Eddie taps her fingertips on her thigh, face scrunched up in thought, her eyes weren't necessarily focused on any particular thing in the room, that is until Jamie shifts in bed next to her. Her eyes move over to where Jamie was still sleeping, a small smile taking over her face. Her head was resting in her hand, her elbow keeping her propped upwards. It was early in the morning, not as early as she had gotten up yesterday, but still too early. Eddie sighs heavily debating on whether or not she should get up. But her decision is easily made as her stomach begins rumbling with hunger. She carefully slips out from under the covers padding through the bedroom to the bathroom. She brushes her teeth and then heads to the kitchen.
She scans the contents of the fridge, trying to decide what to make. After a little back and forth with herself she decides on omelettes. After taking out all the necessary items she flips on her bluetooth speaker and puts on her morning playlist. The way you look tonight plays softly through the speaker as she cracks an egg into a bowl. Just as she's pouring the whisked eggs into the pan she hears the bedroom door open and shut. She tilts her head up and to the side just in time to see Jamie sleepily entering the room. His hair was spiked up in all different directions and Eddie couldn't help but think he looked unbelievably adorable.
"Good morning." Jamie's arms wrap around Eddie's torso, interlocking his hands over her stomach, pressing his palms against it and leaning his chin on her shoulder.
"Morning." Eddie replies turning her head slightly so that she can make eye contact with him, she smiles as he leans in to give her a quick peck on the lips, his lips tasted minty.
"What are you making today?" Jamie sways them slightly almost going to the beat of the song that was playing. Eddie smiles as an image of them dancing pops into her head.
"Omelettes." She answers turning back to the pan. "But I'm only making some for me." Eddie smiles mischievously but doesn't make eye contact with Jamie. "You're on your own today bub."
"Oh come on E." Jamie whines, swaying them even more. "Couldn't we work something out?" Jamie leans into Eddie pressing a few kisses to her neck. Eddie rolls her eyes at how boyish Jamie was being. Surprising Jamie could sometimes behave like a teenage boy but every man had that side of him. Jamie's inner teenage boy was very very flirty, but Eddie enjoyed his flirty side. Eddie smirks as she finishes up the omelette she was making, she sighs as Jamie continues to work his lips down her neck.
"Jamie I'm gonna burn this if you don't stop." Eddie complains nudging Jamie gently with her elbow. Jamie backs off a little bit, his hands remain wrapped around her, his chin goes back to resting on her shoulder as she removes the omelette from the pan.
"So what's the verdict on the omelette?" Jamie asks teasingly. Eddie rolls her eyes and holds the plate up to him. He giggles like a little boy and takes the plate before kissing her on the cheek. Jamie slides onto a stool at the breakfast bar. "Oh my God this is so good." Jamie compliments shoving another forkful of omelette into his mouth. Eddie laughs as she starts making her omelette.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" Eddie asks defensively but she laughs all the same.
"I knew you could eat just didn't know you could cook." Jamie chuckles and Eddie scoffs.
"You're such a jerk." Eddie teases shaking her head, not looking away from the pan. Eddie finishes up her omelette and joins Jamie at the breakfast bar.
"So do you wanna talk about it?" Jamie asks after a few minutes of silent eating.
"Talk about what?" Eddie questions turning to look at him with furrowed brows.
"Why you haven't been sleeping." Jamie states, Eddie immediately freezes mid bite, slowly turning to Jamie. His face was soft but expectant. Eddie thinks about trying to deny and deflect but decides to skip the part where they argue about nothing being wrong. Eddie sighs heavily before speaking.
