"Keep up Reagan." Eddie complains as she once again has to slow down her jog for him to catch up.
"Since when can you outrun me?" Jamie huffs as he catches up to Eddie.
"I've always been able to outrun you." Eddie argues she was still jogging in place meanwhile Jamie was hunched over breathing heavily. "I thought that you ran every morning?" Eddie questions, she stops jogging in place and leans over to check on Jamie.
"I did, I do, I just took a little break recently and I'm not up to the speed I was before." Jamie says as he finally manages to stand up straight.
"Yeah that or." Eddie pauses giving Jamie a look.
"You saying I don't have the stamina to do what we did this morning and run my usual amount?" Jamie accuses raising his eyebrows his breathing was still pretty shallow.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Eddie confirms nodding putting her hands on her hips.
"I'm hurt, really I am." Jamie feigns hurt while Eddie just laughs and rolls her eyes. "I've got plenty of stamina." Jamie boasts slowly stepping towards Eddie, his hands slipping around her hips interlocking on the small of her back. "I'll prove it." Jamie leans in while Eddie bites her lip in anticipation. "Race you." Jamie pinches Eddie's waist before taking off down the sidewalk.
"Hey! That's cheating!" Eddie shouts as she takes off after him. Even with the head start Eddie still crushes Jamie, reaching the corner of the street that their apartment is on first. "Ha!" Eddie exclaims victoriously throwing up her hands.
"Alright alright." Jamie says as he reaches Eddie. "So what'd you win?" Jamie questions his chest rising and falling quickly as he cools down from his run. Eddie taps her chin playfully as if she's thinking about it.
"Hm." Eddie hums as she thinks. "You?" Eddie muses walking her fingers up his shoulders teasingly. She walks her fingers all the way up his arm until her arm is draped around his neck. They were still sticky with sweat but neither of them really cared at that exact moment.
"Hm, I think that's doable." Jamie smirks leaning in to press his lips to hers. "Let's get you upstairs." Without warning Jamie scoops Eddie up bridal style practically sprinting into the apartment building. Eddie squeals as Jamie makes his way up the stairs. His head was buried in the crook of her neck peppering it with kisses as he walks down the hall to their apartment all the while Eddie giggles uncontrollably. But her face falls as they round the corner.
"Jamie." Eddie hisses hitting his chest lightly, when he doesn't stop she pushes him a little more aggressively. "Jamie." He stops and look up confused but then notices what Eddie's looking at.
"Dad." Jamie clears his throat while Eddie hops down out of his arms her face resembling a tomato.
"Commissioner." Eddie mumbles almost inaudibly. Franks gives her a pointed look. "I-uh I mean Frank." Eddie corrects herself, but she still feels like she standing up too straight.
"What are you doing here? You could have called." Jamie says, he seemed annoyed while Eddie just felt embarrassed. Although Eddie knew it was because Frank only really suddenly dropped by when he wanted to talk to Jamie about something serious, usually something he didn't really need to be involved in, at least that's what Jamie had always told Eddie, something about Jamie's personal life. Eddie couldn't help but feel like he was there to discuss her.
"I'm sorry." Frank apologizes, he seems unfazed by the state in which he had found them, or rather the state they were in when they found him. "I was headed back to the office when Erin called and asked me to stop by." Eddie and Jamie share a confused look before turning back to Frank. "She wanted me to invite you two to a nice dinner with all of us." He tells them. Jamie softens a little bit but Eddie can tell his guard is still up.
