Here goes nothing.

I held my breath. My heart pounded my chest as though it were a beast wanting to be free from it's cage. I stared down at the wild water ahead.

I was a fool to take a bet from my rival Jude, not even he would be stupid enough to try this.

I gripped my paddle tightly, the tips of my fingers turned a ghostly shade of white.

The ride was bumpy and at times terrifying. But I was an expert kayaker, I could totally handle this. Right?

Wrong!

The waves pushed and pulled me to all different places. The rocks snarled and clawed at my ship, beckoning it to hit it.

Sweat pooled upon my brows, rolling down the curves of my face as though they too were riding the waves of my visage.

Oh God, please let me survive this.

My trusty steed bounced off a rock and lifted into the air, my heart stopped as I flew, time seemed to stop as everything moved in a slow motion.

The water splashed up, spraying its white foam all over my front.

If I survive this, Jude better hold up to his part of the bargain.
