"Hello, George. I know you don't remember me, so I'm Alex. Your flat-mate. Nice to meet you, once again." The dark brunette smiled sadly at the still semi-invalid boy.
He could only see George a day after he'd woken up since family was first in the line of visitors. Although, said people let George know about a lot of things that happend those two years that were missing from his mind, they never once mentioned Will. He'd heard about Alex, a guy called James and the fact that Josh was going to visit soon, but nothing about the other YouTuber.
"Hi." The pale boy smiled at his companion weakly and motioned towards the chair next to his bed, beckoning Alex to sit.
"How are you feeling?" He asked as he sat down and turned to face him.
The heart monitor silently beeped in the background, a clock on the wall restlessly ticked away the passing seconds.
"Better. Everyone's been asking me this." George hummed and let out a low chuckle. "I get it, but I don't care."
Alex's eyes widened by the confession. He raised his eyebrows then gave the laying boy a scowl.
"What do you mean by that? You are not implying what I think you are, are you?"
George met his eyes briefly before he looked back out the window. "No. I don't thinks so." He sighed, letting his eyelids shut for almost a minute. "I just- I have a feeling that my parents are hiding something from me. And it's killing me because I can't remember what I forgot. It feels like a huge key part is missing..."
Alex nodded, not wanting to tell him his suspicion was true. He tried to take it easy and asked instead of confirming anything.
"What exactly are they hiding? What do you think?"
"No idea. And that Will guy too is in on it."
By the mention of the name, Alex looked up and searched George's eyes. The latter looked out of place, quizzical look on his face.
"What do you think about him?"
George thought for a second then answered him with a shrug. "He seems nice. I don't remember him either so I can't say much."
Alex nodded once again, pushing just a little bit more. He was doing this for Will's sake - he claimed.
"He looks nice, doesn't he?"
George knitted his eyebrows together, scrunching up his nose, then relaxed his face when Alex didn't continue. The question truly caught him off guard.
"Dunno. I don't like boys."
He mistrustfully eyed his flat mate before he placed two and two together. Alex was wearing a baby pink hoodie, grasping his phone which was in a purple case.
This must've been a test. Alex wanted to know if he, George liked his crush, or boyfriend - or whatever. George thought.
"Not to sound rude or anything but you do, don't you?"
Alex nodded without hesitation, then shook his head with a smile. "That's not why I asked, though."
"Then why?"
"No reason."
Alex didn't miss George's confused frown and the way he wrapped his arms around his own body.

When George was finally fully stable he was let out of the hospital. He still needed to rest a lot, and watch out for his diet. After not receiving solid dishes for almost two weeks his body had to get used to non-liquids again.Alex and Will swore on their lives that they would look after him to convince his parents, that it would be better for him to go back to his shared flat with Alex. He made most of his newer memories there anyways so the environment was going to be better for him than the one in his childhood home. That house was most likely not going to trigger anything in his brain.
