Cold,

White,

Nothingness

is all I see in front of me. The stinging wind tosses me side to side, my legs loosing the urge to fight against it. I hold myself tightly, keeping in the small bit of heat pulsing through my body while a coat of frost hugs me. A layer of ice holds tightly onto my eyelashes, clearly not helping my sight. The air is thin, making it hard to breath with snow and hail beating on my face. My ears are numb throughout from the harsh sound of the bitter snowstorm, causing my head to throb and my face to contort.

I'm not sure how long I've been walking, or how much longer I can go. I was bound to be caught in a storm like this sooner or later, judging by how much time I love to spend in the mountains. I could have been better prepared, too, because all that I have on is this damn oversized hoodie, black jeans, and some large snow boots. Honestly, I'm surprised I'm not dead by now.

My thoughts were disrupted as I tripped over a large branch, catching myself with my hands and knees directly in the snow. My legs have finally given out on me. A blue tint began to show on my stinging finger tips, but I'm too weak and numb to care. I let my arms give out, and I fell on my side, wearily staring in the distance as if I were waiting for myself to just die. I close my eyes and listen to wind distort the branches above me. Just as I begin to lose consciousness, I hear something in the distance slowly making its way closer and closer. As if just in time, the barking of dogs and the whoosh of a sled could be heard coming in my direction. I let out a sigh and finally drifted off to sleep.
