Love or Not, Still Lonely (SasuSaku FanFic)

Prologue

[Sakura]

Konoha General Hospital

February 26, 2017 11:43am

The double doors open with a loud BANG! The Emergency Room is in chaos. Everything is going by so fast.

"Doctor Haruno! We have one in critical condition coming in!" one of the nurses reports. I walk to the doors that lead outside and went up to the ambulance unloading the patient.

"Patient is male, around 17 years old. Has a sprained ankle but major injury to the head from impact and stomach from the iron rod. He lost consciousness on the way," one of the paramedics told me as I near the patient.

I take out my flashlight and examine his eyes. "His eyes are dilated."

"Doctor! He's not breathing!" a nurse reports.

"Go and get an operation room ready!" I command as I climb onto the gurney to begin performing emergency CPR. The paramedics hand the gurney to the nurses, who then rushes into the ER.

"Doctor Haruno!" one of the paramedics call.

"Ino!" I call my friend and nurse.

I switch places with Ino as I get off the gurney to talk to the paramedic.

He gives me a clipboard with the patient's information.

"Bicycle accident near the school. The driver drove off without checking on him," I say as I check the extra information. "What an ass."

"Doctor, he's lost too much blood once we arrived at the scene," another paramedic reports. "There wasn't much we could do to stop the bleeding without taking that rod out."

"Thank you," I said with a nod. I then rush to the ER to begin the operation on saving the student's life.

The operation took three hours to complete. I walk out of the operation room, taking off my gloves and mask. As the doors open, a couple came up to me with worried expressions on their faces.

"Doctor!" the woman cries. "My s-son. Is my son––"

I smiled gently at her. "Your son is strong. The operation was a success. He will need to rest for a few months. So make sure he doesn't do anything strenuous on his body. He is currently being moved to a room. Would you like to see him?"

Sighing in relief, the couple nodded to my question. I give them another smile and escort them to their son's room.

I check on the boy before turning to the parents. "I will be taking my leave now. Doctor Kato Shizune will be the doctor on duty for the night. She will be the one coming in to check on your son's recovery."

The couple thanks me again before I exit the room.

Once outside the room, I smile to myself, happy that the boy lived through the surgery. Shaking off the giddiness, I make my way to my office. I am ready to call it a night and return home. I look at my watch and saw that it is already one in the morning. [Mom is going to be angry....]

Pain. I felt a shock of pain in my chest for a brief moment. I lean on the reception counter to balance myself.

"Doctor Haruno? Are you okay?" the reception nurse asks me.

"I-I don't know...."

I know its been awhile. I've been having writer's block. However, after reading over what I have already written, I decided to change it up a bit. The plot will still be the same though ^^
