"i swear to god, juniper rose harlow, if you don't let us the fuck in i'm going to-" dexter yells from outside the girls bedroom door. she rolls her eyes slightly and opens the door before he could finish.
"hey dexxy." she says, giving him a small smirk. "hi axel. hey oscar."
"what the fuck, harlow?" axel said, narrowing his eyes. his cruel tone dampens junipers mood, but she plays it off as if it didn't bother her.
"how'd you guys get in?" the small girl asks, ignoring the burning looks going into the back of her head.
oscar rolls his eyes before sighing deeply. "you keep an extra key under the matt. i've known you forever. i knew your parents wouldn't be home because," he pauses for a second, thinking if this would hurt her feelings, but suddenly decides he doesn't care. "well, are they ever here?"
dexter changes the subject quickly. "why didn't you tell us?"
"i couldn't." she responds simply. not wanting to give away too much because she hasn't talked to rory about what they would tell their friends. "where's rory?"
"shouldn't you know? he is your boyfriend isn't he?" axel seethes.
"god, can't you guys be fucking happy for us? for me? why can't you let us live?" juniper shouts, throwing her hands up in the air in frustration. "get out."
"what?" dexter asks.
"get. the. fuck. out." she repeats. "i don't want you here." juniper points to her bedroom door. "don't let the door hit you on the way out."
the boys give her wide eyes, surprised by her out burst. but the follow directions and scurry out of the room. the harlow girl wipers her face, removing the tears that began to fall when she heard the front door slam.
"fuck them." she whispers to herself. "fuck them."
