Edd frantically knocked on Tom's door, shifting from foot to foot. He knew he shouldn't have left Tord alone, with the fire, but Edd wasn't sure how Tom would react to him showing up at his door, and as Edd had told Tord, he was worried for his safety.
He heard the lock come undone on the other side of the door, and Edd began bouncing on his heels, willing Tom to open the door faster. The door slowly slid open to reveal the eyeless man, his eyebrow rose slightly, and he opened the door more. "What happened?" He asked as Edd slipped inside. It was easy for Tom to tell that something had happened, based on the panicked look in his friends brown eyes. "Did Tord do something?"
Edd shook his head frantically. Tord did set fire to the kitchen, but on accident, he would never try to burn down the kitchen. "No, no. The kitchen is on fire and I need help!" Tom's eyebrow rose again, but didn't question it and shuffled away to get the fire extinguisher he kept in case of emergencies. Edd wasted no time in whirling around pulling the door open, worry for Tord gnawing at him as he waited for Tom.
Once Tom came back, fire extinguisher in hand, Edd ran out the room and down the hall, swinging open his door as he had left it unlocked. He ran into the room, but stopped dead in his tracks, staring at Tord in silence.
Tord was only in the grey shirt Edd had lent him, and his hair was smoking, Edd's green hoodie sitting on the counter, burning with the kitchen. Tord's expression was blank, but his eyes held guilt. "What did you do?.." Edd breathed, taking in the scene. Tord shifted nervously. "I uh.. Tried to deal with the fire.." Tom slipped past Edd, and past Tord, making his way into the kitchen before the fire got worse. Edd made his was over to Tord, scanning him for injuries, instantly spotting the burn on his hand. Edd sighed, grabbing Tord's robotic hand, he turned to Tom, who was in the process of putting out the fire. "I'll be right back, Tom!" He called, and Tom only responded with a nod, never looking away from the fire.
"Come on" He gently began to pull Tord into the bathroom, so he could deal with the burn "Sorry.." Tord said softly as they walked into the bathroom. Edd only shook his head slowly, dismissing the apology as he grabbed the first aid kit from the medicine cabinet. "Have you ran your hand under water?" Edd questioned, opening the first aid kit. Tord shook his head. "Okay, do that then" Tord did as Edd said, turning the sink handles, water steadily spewed out of the faucet. He held his hand under the faucet, wincing at the sting, but welcomed the feeling of relief that came after.
After a couple minutes, Edd had Tord pull his hand away so he could use the burn cream and wrap his hand in bandages. Tord winced as Edd wrapped the injury as carefully as possible. "Don't try to deal with something on your own like that again, okay?" Tord sighed guiltily. "Yeah, okay" Edd finished, and gently pulled Tord close by his wrist, engulfing him in a hug.
