'Music is a way of life to a lot of people. Its their way of expressing their deep emotions. Some people just love the magical sound of it. Either way it can always put a smile on someones face.'
--------
'Isn't she lovely. Isn't she wonderful. Isn't she precious. Less than one minute old. I never thought, through love we'd be, making one as lovely as she. Isn't she lovely made from love'
The crowd roared with cheers for the grinning boy on stage. People started to rise from their seat, until the whole audience was standing. Arms moved in the air as they frantically clapped to show how amazing the song was sung. I couldnt be prouder.
The teenager flicked his wild hair away from his forehead, and looked around the room at the thousands of impressed faces.
I got up from my seat and joined them, adding another set of woo's to the room. His smile grew as people got louder.
The room began to lose its exstatic feel as the judges began to speak.
I budged past a few people next to me and headed to the exit. Walking down long white walled corridors I soon saw the 'Backstage' door. I burst through to be meeted with the family of the talented boy.
'Anne!' I shouted, searching for his mother through the large amount of family that were looking wide eyed at three large tv screens.
His mother tuned around and smiled widely. Her arms opened to greet me and squose me strongly.
'Didn't he do amazingly! The crowds reaction was everything he was hoping for!' She squealed, starting to get a little emotional again.
'He was absolutely perfect Anne! I'm so proud of him'
She let go and grabbed my hand before returning her attention to the brightly lit tv screens.
All the judges were so impressed with the voice he has at such a young age. As they went along the panel of very experience and highly respected people they each seemed to have very similar opinions and each made Anne squish my hand a little more.
'So this is were we vote' An American woman said.
The crowd went quite and backstage we all held hands ready to here the votes that would change the beautiful boys life forever.
'Its a yes from me!'
'Yes from me'
Everyone seemed to hold their breathe waiting for the last judges choice. The expression on the stage present boy looked worried but hopeful. He was already through to the next part of the show but everyone new he was hoping for all three yeses.
'I'm going to say no'
His face dropped a little. I suppose he had his hopes up, we all did. But when the crowd began to cheer once again his shiny white teeth were soon visible.
He waved to the audience before walking off stage with a wide grin on his face.
He soon appeared around the corner which set off screams from everyone of his family members. Anne let go of my hand running to hug her son. Everyone soon joined in the family embrace.
'Harry you were fantastic!'
'Well done lad!'
'I'm so proud of you'
His smile beamed, lighting up the room. He hugged the last of his family members before seeing me as I still remained standing at the tv. I couldn't help but smile as he approched me.
He stopped a metre or so infront of me before returing a soft smile.
'Did I do ok?' He said quietly as his family spoke amongst themselves about an eventful afternoon.
I smiled even more. Of course he knows I was proud but he still stared at me for an answer.
'You did amazingly Harry'
I reached out and wrapped my arms around his taller frame. His arms engulfed me and I was met with a rather warm body. He squose for a while, not saying anything.
I liked this. Just being able to hug him without saying a word. We always do it and it's one of the things I like best about our friendship, he's not afraid to be close to me unlike other 'bestfriends' I've had in the past. He is very affectionate.. not in that way, but it's good that his parents have brought him up with love and he likes to pass the love on.
I let go when I heard bodies move towards the door, but one of his arms made itself comfy on my shoulder.
'So how are we going to celebrate me completely smashing that audition?'
'I think you deserve at least some Pizza Hut for being alright, I suppose' I said looking up to see his smirk.
'Sounds good to me'
'Well I shall go home and leave you too it, I need some rest after all the excitment of just one afternoon'
He looked down on me with a confused look on his face.
'You're not coming with us?'
'I thought it might be good to leave you with you're family, this has been a big day for you'
'Don't be stupid, you're coming with us. I won't leave without you. You're my best friend Chloe we do everything together'
'Are you sure? You'd have to check with Anne atleast'
He suddenly let go and caught up with the rest of the group. He wrapped an arm around his mother seen as he is considerably taller than her, and they began to chat. It still makes me smile when I see him being sweet around his parents. Most boys of his age wouldn't even dream of showing effection towards their mothers in public, but he loves too.
Anne's head turned round to look at me, and waved me over.
'You young lady are certainly coming with us. You're family aswell!' she smiled. I've no idea why I thought she wouldnt be fine with it, shes such a nice woman.
'Ok, if you all insist' I laughed
