The city flourished beneath her. Her face remained impassive as she stood over the cliff, watching the sight under her with casually. Above her, thunder rumbled in the sky signaling the onset of rain. Raindrops fell on her, dripping down her face, leaving cool trails behind on her freckles.
Her hair blew around her nearly forming a fiery halo. She glanced down, her light eyes shifting to the ground under her sandals that wrapped around her leg like a vine plant.
The green grass reminded her of his eyes. She would never forget the exact shade of his eyes or the curve of his lips when his mouth slid into a smile or his pale yet sharp cheekbones.
Moisture pricked her eyes; though she did nothing to stop her eyes from overflowing. Soon enough, hot salty tears mixed with the rain on her heart shaped face till she couldn't tell one from the other.
A silent prayer crossed her mind. Dully, she wondered what he would say if he could see her now. He was too pure to go near violence. And in the end, it was what ruined him.
Her lips pressed into an impossibly tight line. She had lover him with her every being; but he had been killed. And she would make sure that they suffered. She didn't care what that made her.
Human? Definitely no. A monster? Maybe. With her hands clasped in front of her, her black dress gently swayed with the wind. The irony of that almost made her laugh.
She would do whatever was needed for her to avenge him. Destruction would be bought upon humanity. She would end lives without a blink of the eye.
All because they took him away from her.
And also because, in the end, he was worth it.
In so many ways that she wasn't.
