It was just a normal school day for (Name). The bell has rung and signaled for the students at her campus that it was finally time for them to head back home.

Grinning, the (e/c) girl, packs her things quickly but also carefully. The female, although not a clean freak, still prefers her school supplies to be neat and not messy. She bids her friends goodbye and cycles home with her two friends Jenny and Kristopher, as usual.

Jenny is a lovable female with pretty black dove eyes and long raven hair. She studies in almost every class with (Name) and they have known each other since they were 10. Kris, on the other hand, is a relatively new friend of both girls. He was, in some ways, the outcast in this new place.

Kris is a year older than both females but of course, he will gladly accept acquaintances. There is no other or better choice than that in his opinion to be honest.

So far, nothing has been out of the ordinary for (Name).

- I'm home, mom~

She walks in on a strangely silent house. It was dead quiet... as if even a pin drop can be heard very clearly. Then she hears groans and stumbling footsteps. 'Hm, that's weird...' - (y/n) ponders and she voices up to call for her mother again.

- Mom?

Furrowing her eyebrows, the female takes off her shoes, turning her gaze back down, only to face a limping figure advancing towards her. She was alert, nonetheless, tried to keep her cool though failed miserably as her voice stutters.

- M-M-Mom?

The figure is no doubt her mother, the familiar (h/c) is unmistakable, but... there is just something off. Her mother's skin can't be this deadly pale. Or, her hair, it is always kept neat and presentable so why?--

She questions herself when suddenly, her 'mom' lunged at her, grabbed the girl's shoulder and chomps violently on her neck. (Name) lets out a pained bloodcurdling scream as teeth sink down in her delicate skin.

- !!!---

The female sits right up, gasping loudly, before wincing painfully at the sudden throb  in her head. 'Damn, should have been more gentle...'

Her bandaged right hand raises up to hold her throbbing head, her face frowning deeply. After the last expedition to get Kristopher some medical supplies, she wounded her right arm and was not exactly in the best state currently.

(Name) sighs and lets her eyes wander around the small space they now call home, at least temporarily.

The apocalypse has happened about 3 weeks ago, they were lucky to survive but their friend, Kris, barely make it out alive with an injured leg, bleeding heavily.

When (Name) and Jenny along with their furry friend encountered the boy, he was passing out, barely standing as half of his weight was supported by the taller guy known as Aiden whom (Name) has met a couple times in the past.

Aiden is... one of those people who not-so-secretly has a crush on the Jenny. Though he claimed that he is over her a long time ago, the group is still doubtful about that.

They scrambled to help Aiden carry Kris to a safer place, at that time, it was an convenience store. They pushed themselves in and hastily shut the entrance. There was a back door to the place, fortunately.

There was a horde approaching their place soon, so with their wounded friend, it was decided that the best thing to do was stay low and avoid the walkers in the process.

The group rested for a short while while Jenny volunteered to check the place. There was mushy gory sounds  and a few grunts. Minutes later, a familiar ravenette head poked out.

- It's safe now, I think there are some food and equipments in here, split up and gather.

Aiden gently as possible, settled the heavily breathing Kristopher down before rushing to gather supplies. Jenny went for some food while (Name) searched for medical supplies.

- H-Hey! Thanks... for earlier, both you and Jenny, we would have been dead if it hadn't been for you guys. We appreciate it.

The slightly shaky voice of Aiden were heard by (Name) as her hand was in mid-air reaching for a pill bottle.

- It's nothing, we can't just leave you guys there anyway...

Replying, (Name) resumed back to her previous actions, not before adding.

- You can thank us later when the situation improves.

The guy nodded, agreeing as he ran off to find the necessities. Fortunate enough for the group, they successfully escaped the scene with plenty of new supplies as well as no walkers tailing them.

A few days later and we see the current situation right now. In a small apartment, the group scattered all over the room. Jenny is just quietly staying in the corner with her German Sheperd, petting him occasionally. The female has taken off her brown combat boots a few hours ago, complaining silently that it felt uncomfortable.

Kris was half resting half sleeping not too far from (Name), just in case his injuries call for help, she can quickly aid him. And Aiden, the male lets out occasional soft snores in his slumber.

The shorter female, (Name) has so kindly draped a thin clean blanket that she found in the place over his body. It wasn't much but something was better than nothing.

Her taller companion, Jenny kept telling (Name) that she is caring too much for people that might betray her in the future. Despite the same speech being repeated over and over again, the smaller girl simply just can't help it.

It was in her nature to care for others. For the same reason, (Name) got herself some skills in aiding injuries in her early years of junior high, thinking that it will definitely be useful later on. She just didn't expect the knowledge she learnt to be this handy so soon.

Her kindness and talents were almost as if a blessing, if we didn't take into consideration how much it cost her as time went on.
