Ch 8 - Bait

Rylus is having a bet with William and it's now all the matter of who gets their lady first and the second one must follow up. Is Rylus in a surprise or what?

Rylus was making his move. He first had to once again get out of the castle. It was by his fellow guard knight Arthur. Considering how he was tall and wide it made a big shadow for the Prince to hide behind. A few more guards looking like they are on patrol walking around an alley made way for Rylus to blend in with no one suspecting a thing. Giving it a minute he went out on his stroll across the markets and busy streets of Royce once more. Pockets full of silver and heart overflowing with lust for what he had pictured. But the question was what to get her? Someone royal had various ideas of material possessions and greed. What would June want or appreciate? Stumbling on his thoughts he just wanted to go straight there to the flower shop. Since he had another maiden in line to see him today he had to plan ahead. Which happily was to his benefit.   

He walked the streets with confidence but not having too much pep or swagger in his step to not make him stand out. Rylus walked around the corner and stood in the exact spot he got hurt. This, is where I found her. I may still be hurt from it, but might be fate. With an exhale of positive thoughts he marched forward and walked into the flower shop.

"Rylus!" Blushed June. Startled at his entrance.

"Morning June. How are you doing today?"

"Good. Good." She replied nervously.

"Two very important questions for you June. I'll be forward since I know you are a very busy woman. What ate the flowers you have the most of or need to sell quickly? And the real one is can you have tomorrow off so I can give you a tour?"

"A, tour? Where?" Not sure if this was a date or something indecent.

He leaned in closer. "It's a secret. A big one. You in?"

"Tomorrow? When?"

"I'll be here tomorrow same time. What do you say?"

Maybe this can get those girls off my back and I can finally use a day off. "I accept. Do I have to dress up?"

"Go as you are. Do I look anything special?"

June giggled. "Besides a lost brother of the Prince no you don't. Like an average young man. That's about it. I can't wait." Starting to feel light and happy. Losing her train of thought in a gaze.

"So what flowers?" Asked Rylus.

"Flowers. Very nice." She sighed happily.

"June... you feeling okay?" Rylus saw June seem just so out of it.

"Merigolds and a date." She said softly.

"What do you recommend?" Rylus reassured.

"Oh uhhh, merigolds and don't forget bands. It holds them all together." She managed to recover from that.

"So tomorrow and for now two bouquets of merigolds. Name your price. Got you right now." He took out his coin wallet.

"Six." She smirked.

"You win this time." He chuckled and handed over the francs. "Once again you are the best. Can't wait to  ring you around tomorrow."

"Indeed. Can't wait for you to show me everything. I'll keep it between us I swear."

Rylus saw the emotions on her face. Then he remembered what William had said. < You see Master Rylus a lady may be confusing but that is because they leave hints for us. If she is blushing it may be attraction. > "Thank you June. It means so much to me."

She wrapped everything up and handed the flowers. "See you tomorrow Rylus." She nodded. "Have a good day."

"And you the rest of yours my lady." Rylus nodded and slowly walked out with his hands full. It's a date. Your turn William.

June watched Rylus until he was out of sight. She sighed in happiness and thought about tomorrow needing to come sooner. The fact of a lady getting her first date. Then the date the Prince needed in effort to please his father the King was going to be around. Though what wasn't expected was someone was being followed. Not a predator or someone dangerous however.

The two stalkers walked into the flower shop. "Hey June. Rylus needed flowers again?" Asked Mary.

"Yeah. Rylus. So handsome. I mean he need merigolds for he said someone handsome." June couldn't pull herself together. Daydreaming about the date a single day later. Her thoughts were starting to hurt her.

"So anything yet?" Against Mary.

"Outside of yesterday why did he needs flowers? Two days in a row?" Puzzled Annie.

"I didn't ask. Though I have an idea that was has a garden at home. I remember he said that. Maybe he wants to plant already developed one?" June wanted to defend Rylus but knew that wasn't the place to do it. However it's a big of a deal to be untreated.

"So June, can do us a favor and keep an eye on him? We'll talk to you in a week. We are both quite busy and we think he will come around again to see you. Just tell us if you know his parents, house, girlfriend, or anything else we no idea over." Instructed Annie.

June started to get furious. "He's dating!?" She cried.

"We have no idea ." Mary flinched as she saw the anger ignite in those emerald eyes.

"Good. But I'll keep my eyes on him if I can help it. I'm suspicious too. Why three bouquets in two days? Makes no sense."

Mary laughed. "Finally someone gets what we are trying to accomplish."

The girls are slowly persuading June to do the dirty work. Oh boy what's going to happen? Rylus has two dates and one might be for a "mission" because they think its not right.
