"Dominic!"
"Hm?"
"I'm sorry! I can't meet you tomorrow."
"What? Why?"
"I have to go to the hospital."
"But we've been planning this for so long."
"I know, and I'm so sorry. Next time, I promise."
He kept quiet. He prepared a surprise for her. He's been awaiting their meeting for many days and now it's cancelled. He couldn't help but feel a speck of anger and annoyance.
"Whatever."
"Hey, c'mon. Please don't be this way."
"We had a deal already! And you had to go ruin it!"
"Dominic, please. It's an important thing."
"So going out with me isn't important?"
She kept her silence.
"I— fine. I'll cancel my schedule tomorrow."
And they both hung up.
