By the time I'd walked out to the courtyard after Geometry, Amy was already waiting to walk the 6 blocks up Park Avenue.

"Heya!" Amy said as she greeted me. "Our name is down so all we have to do is get there!"

I'm not always that happy to spend my one hour lunch with Amy. She doesn't make me feel very "important"

"Sounds great," I say with a smile as we start walking down the street.

Crown was nearly empty of its usual posh ladies with their pearls and $5,000 handbags. I honestly prefer going to ABC Kitchen in Union Square, but Crown's $125 lobster is amaze.

"Okay, so Luche. Are you going Saturday? I don't think Carl wants to be in it. Most of the guys that get invited don't do it. They'd rather get stoned and play soccer at the park then be in a society. Their loss!" she rambles to me as soon as the waiter gets our order. Lobster roll for me and braised quail for Amy.

"I'll be there," I reply with a sip of water. I don't like to drink champagne at lunch. I'm just to classy.

"Great!" she says back. She talks to much.

By then, our waiter brings out food and we eat quietly. Most of the fancy ladies don't come around till one after their shopping trips at places like Kirna Zabête and Patron of the New. Lucky for us, we get lunch at 11, so the food comes fast.

Amy picks at her bird while I eat my lobster roll quickly so I can skip out early for "study time" I'm always stressed around Amy. She makes me feel so self conscious. Yeah, I've known her forever. We grew up in the same apartment building in Atlanta and our dads started their marketing firm together, but ever since middle school, she's been all posh and fancy, shopping at places like Edon Manor and eating dinner at places like Blue Ribbon with her fancy society class mom.

"Hey," I saw after downing my water glass. "I gotta get back to school. I'm doing extra classes. Ya know. Gotta get the right books. See ya!" I speed out of Crown leaving her with the bill, and and run up the road probably leaving her confused. I left my wallet in my locker, so I couldn't pay even if I did stay.

By the time I payed my cab fair and walked up the steps to school, people were just rolling in from lunch. Most people eat in the cafeteria, but if they're lucky they can get of campus and back in time for 4th period.

I looked around the courtyard for Abbi and Kasey, and saw them sprawled on the lawn with some of the soccer boys in our class.

" Hey guys," I said approaching them, still breathing heavily from my .02 mile run. Abbi was flirting with a freshman that just happened to walk up and Kasey was eating her Vegan Tofu wrap from Gobo.

"Hola," Max Smith says to me. Max is Kasey's boyfriend of 3 months, and always hangs around with us. Carl hates him cause he's nicer and plays soccer just like any Brazilian born should

"Sup, Max a Million," I say as I greet him with a big hug. Kasey hops up to throw her trash away and plops herself beside him in the grass.

I look over to find Abbi and her new freshman friend in passionate kiss. She always goes for the younger ones cause they are desperate, and she likes a good fling.

By the time I see Amy walk up the steps returning from Crown, the bell rings for 4th period so, lucky for me, I don't have to face questions on my speedy exit. Hopefully I can get out of her way after school and head home. To take a bath! yay!
