"Sugar"

When Lucius woke up it had finally stopped raining. The sun was shining through the window, so it was impossible for him to fall back asleep. He rolled over to see if Narcissa was awake, but she was laying next to him sleeping soundly. As he didn't want to wake her, Lucius quietly rolled out of bed to start a pot of tea. He didn't trust the house elves, as they always managed to mess it up somehow. Honestly, how could you mess up a pot of tea?
While Lucius made the tea, Narcissa woke up, noticed her husband was gone and quickly made her way into the kitchen. Lucius did not hear her walk in, so he almost dropped the pot when he heard her say a quiet "Good morning, darling". Lucius tried to turn around to greet his wife and pour the tea, but Narcissa already had her arms around his waist to give him a hug. He put the pot down onto the counter, and turned so he could hug her back. Merlin, he missed this while he was in Azkaban.
After a minute of silence, Lucius finally let go of his wife and poured the tea. "Sugar?", He asked Narcissa, as she started to take the milk out of the refrigerator.
"Yes dear?" Narcissa responded blindly. Lucius let out a soft chuckle.
"No, I meant,  would you like sugar in your tea?".
"Oh! Yes please Lucius, sorry love." She said while profusely blushing. Lucius added the sugar to her tea, and put it back onto the counter by the teapot. He never liked sugar in his tea, but Narcissa always had it in hers. Lucius still asked anyways, because the second he just put the sugar in without asking, she would complain that she didn't want sugar and tell him he must ask next time.
As they drank their tea on the balcony overlooking the garden section of their backyard, Lucius and Narcissa started up a conversation about how their garden was absolutely stunning this year, and that they must show it off. Really, Narcissa was the only one talking. Lucius just listened and smiled while she pointed out a beautiful trait of each flower. After a while, he started to gaze off into space.
"Lucius were you listening to a word I said?" He finally heard Narcissa say after a few minutes. "I asked if we should host a ball in a few weeks. Invite a few people over?" Narcissa said while staring into his cool grey eyes.
"Of course, whatever makes you happy my love." He sighed. But it wasn't a miserable sigh. It was a very content sigh. He only wanted her to be happy. That was his main concern. She was the centre if his world and if a ball to show off their amazing garden would make her happy, then Lucius would make it happen.
"Are you sure dear? I wouldn't want to make you do something you would not want to do."
Lucius just smiled and placed a hand on top of hers reassuringly.
Narcissa knew he didn't like to be in the public eye after the war. When she suggested trips to Hogsmeade to get a new book, or a trip to Diagon Alley to get a new robe for him, he always said no or made up an excuse not to go. Usually it was along the lines of "I don't feel well, I think I just want to stay home." Or "I heard a outbreak of head lice is going about. I think we must stay home." And although she thought he was just being ridiculous, she didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable or unhappy.
"I shall start sending out invites if you are sure you want to do this then."
With that last statement Narcissa left to go get ready for the day.
