"You're my best friend I need your opinion on things like this! " I whined to Naomi.

"I just told you girl. If you really like him then you would accept his offer. And I know for a fact you've had a thing for him for some years now." She said to me making me look down as my face grew hot. "So text him." She smiled softly.

"I will." I laughed a little looking at the television.

"Now Jayda! " She yelled.

"Okay, Okay. "

I pulled my phone from my pocket and responded to the text he sent me asking if I made up my mind.

-I know you are. Let's try something simple first. Like brunch or something.

"So! " Naomi dragged excitedly.

"Where having brunch tomorrow. " I blushed.

"Awwww! She cooed. You gotta let me do your make up!" She exclaimed.

"Girl I'm not wearing no make up its just a brunch date with Luke. " I tried to reason.

"Well let me pick your outfit." She continued.

"Fine I smiled rolling my eyes." I sighed as I looked at my phone ringing. "Hey daddy." I said..

"Hey baby girl. What you doing?"

"Just talking to Naomi what's up."

"I was just calling to tell you your momma said--"

"Don't forget dinner tomorrow. I know daddy. Tell her to stop reminding me its not like I'm gonna avoid coming. She does this every time." I laughed.

"I told her that but she threatened me." He said whispering like she was close and probably would have heard him.

"I bet." I giggled. "But I'll be there I promise." I told him and we said our goodbyes.

"I gotta head out. I have a class in about an hour." I said grabbing my things and going to my car.

"No, I actually feel much better thank you." I said to August as he laid on my lap while I rubbed his curls.

"That's good." He nodded.

"What time do you have to go to work?" I asked him and he looked at his watch and looked up at me with a pout.

"I'ma have to leave in about ten minutes baybeh." He said as his accent poured from his lips.

"Awww." I whined.

"It's aight. I'll be back so we can have dinner together alright?" He said rubbing my thigh making me want to kiss him.

"Okay." I said keeping my thoughts thoughts and not making them actions.
