[Chapter Nine]
The New Student
~Harry's P.O.V.~
"And that is how Mendeleev created the Periodic Table of elements." Ms. Biers explained. She's our science teacher. I'm so bored. Science is a very easy piece of shit.
I scooted nearer to Gabriella and whispered; "I need to tell you something later."
She turned her face to my direction and nodded. "Okay."
I needed to tell her. She's my best friend. No, wait. I take that back. She's my girlfriend.
"It's crazy." She suddenly speaks up.
"What?" I chuckled. "What's crazy?"
"It's that, we started off as best friends and now, here you are. My boyfriend." She smiled proudly.
"And you're my girlfriend." I added.
She smiled and nodded happily. "Yep."
This is just sick. I'm leaving her. I need to finish off college and audition for the X-Factor. It's what Mum and Robin wants. Robin's my stepdad.
"Okay, class. Recess." Ms. Biers clasped her hands together as she said that.
A lot of relieved sighs echoed the room. "Thank goodness." I muttered.
"Let's go, Haz." Gabriella says.
"Alrighty." I replied.
*
"Garlic bread please." Gabriella says to the canteen lady.
"Sure. Will that be all?" She replied as she places the garlic bread on Gabriella's tray.
"Yep." She replied, popping the 'p'.
"How come you don't stop eating garlic bread?" I asked as we were walking to the dining hall.
"It's my daily craving." She replies proudly.
"No wonder your breath smells like garlic." I teased.
"Hey, I have breath spray." She replied defensively.
"Don't trust breath spray too much." I teasingly warned.
"Oh, you don't trust my second best friend?" She pouted.
"Stop being a baby, Royce." I chuckled.
"I'm not a baby, Styles." She says and playfully hits my arm.
"Owwie." I pouted.
"Look who's the baby now." She retorted.
"Omg, Are you guys dating?" A girl suddenly asked.
"Uh-- yeah." Gabriella shrugged.
"Well, congratulations! You both look so cute!" She cooed.
"Thanks." I smiled.
She nodded and walked away.
"People think we're cute." Gabriella chuckled.
"Yep. We should create a ship name for us." I suggested.
"Alright. How about Garry?" She asked.
"What? That's Spongebob's snail." I replied. "You're bad at shipnaming." I teased.
"Then you do it." She shrugged.
I stroked my invisible beard. "Hmmm..."
"How about Harriella?" I asked.
"Sounds perfect." She smiled.
She's so happy. I guess it's time to break it to her.
"Gabriella?" I started off.
"Hmm?" She asked.
"I'm going away for college. After that, I'll audition for the X-Factor." I told her.
After that, her perfect smile faded. "Oh." She replied faintly.
"I don't know how I'll be long, but I know one thing." I smiled encouragingly at her.
"What?" She asked. I could tell she was holding back tears.
"I'm coming back for you." I reassured her.
Her face lit up in happiness and hope. "Really?" She asked.
I nodded and smiled.
"I love you, Harry." She said.
"I love you too." I replied.
"Promise me one thing." She says.
"Name it." I replied.
"Skype me, write me or email me or whatever. Just keep contact with me please." She begged.
"Sure." I shrugged. "Anything for you, cheese pizza."
"Thanks." She smiled.
-riiiing!
"There goes the bell." She stated in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Nope. That was my stomach." I replied sarcastically.
"Enough with the sarcasm, Haz." She giggled. "Let's go."
