A storm blew across the woods where a girl resides. She wakes up to the sound of thunder. She looks out of her window and sees dark clouds engulfing the sky. She wasn't too worried. Although she lived in the woods, her house was weather safe. She lived in a tree-house. The home itself was like one of those houses from the show "Tree-house Masters". She and her older brother built it. But after the unfortunate events, she now lives in it. This girl closed all the blinds in the house and walked through a bridge that leads to her library. She made some tea and lit a candle. She grabbed a book and started reading while the storm was passing. Of course, anyone would think she's at risk because she lives in a tree. She and her brother got lightning rods for when stormy weather comes. It was in the afternoon that it arrived. She had just woken up from a nap. The sound of rain pounded the roof and she kept on reading. After a good hour has passed, the storm has stopped. She looked outside and it was still cloudy.

"It's a good thing it stopped, these days it's raining more and more." She said to herself. A phone call came and she went and picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Is this Carly Johnson?"

"Yes, who am I speaking with?" Carly said questioning the person.

"This is your mentor, Lavie. I need to see you at my office at the main base. I believe you know your way there?" said her mentor.

"Yes sir, it's a 10-minute drive from my place. I'll see you as soon as possible.

"I'll see you then Carly." The phone cut off and Carly stood there thinking hard. She wanted to take the easiest transportation and fly. But the reason for her not to do it was because she's seen as an abomination. Her wings were kept a secret and she doesn't use them unless she's alone. She went to her bedroom and changed to her military uniform. She wore a shirt that covered the collarbone. It was of a muted green-gray color. She put on a leather jacket that showed the curves of her waist. The sleeves were long. It took inspiration on Asian clothing. It was of a black color with her ribbons, medals, and her rank. She put on black pants and ankle-high grey combat boots. Carly looked at herself in the mirror. She put her hair in a ponytail and walked out. She grabbed one of the sturdy vines from the tree and slid down. She then looked around and check if anyone or anything was watching her. Carly knelt and put her strength into sprouting her wings.

"If I wasn't hurrying, this process would be better for my body," Carly said in annoyance. Finally, her raven wings have sprung and off she went in full force. She got lucky because the sun was setting and not many Lynxes can see in the dark. Carly has excellent eyesight so minimal light was no problem.

Carly arrived at the main base her mentor Lavie talked about. With the area being aerial protection, she had to go near a forest that was close to it. There was a stream that had a deep ditch. So she managed to put them away inside and climbed her way out. She arrived at the base and entered. One of the guards had their assault rifles pointing at her. She looked shocked at what she was seeing. These guards were not wearing Lynx combat uniforms. The insignia was completely different and the way their uniform looked all too familiar. Carly composed herself and woke up to them with her hands in her back. She walked slowly but holding onto her ground informing them she means business. Their hands were holding the trigger and barrel telling her to stop.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" One of the guards asked.

"Do you have any proof of clearance to go through here?" Another asked. Carly wasn't having it and she needed to see Lavie quickly.

"My name is General Johnson. I have my Lynx medal rank here if you want to see how much clearance I have to pass through the gate. Now if you don't mind I need to see my mentor immediately." She said strictly.
