IS IT REALLY JUST ACTING? ; gyuhui

mingyu was beyond excited. this was his first ever big role since deciding his career path and honestly, he felt so grateful that the director chose him out of the many people who auditioned. mingyu had trouble sleeping the night before due to the adrenaline coursing through his veins.

mingyu had woken up at five past six and rushed to put on any clothes he found laying around in his room. today was the read-through with all the actors and mingyu was looking forward to meeting all of the people he would be working with for the next up and coming months.

he had gotten a text from his manager, hong jisoo that he was parked outside his apartment and mingyu made sure he at least had his phone before dashing out the door.

the movie was basically mingyu's character (doyun) going through a sexuality crisis after a hot transfer student from china moves to his school and him coming to terms with his homosexuality and the obstacles that would inevitably be thrown his way. it was a little comedic with some serious scenes but overall romantic. mingyu thought that it was an amazing script and concept as it would be spreading awareness for lgbt community and would help some other kids through any self-acceptance issues they had. as a bisexual individual, mingyu couldn't help but applaud the writers and continuing to be amazed at how far the world had come.

mingyu ran down the stairs and found jisoo's car before popping open the door and clambering inside. jisoo's car was small and mingyu was over six foot, even sitting in the passenger's seat was tough.

"god, you look like trash" jisoo scowled, glancing at the state of mingyu's hair and the clothes he knew the actor had worn to his korean history lecture three days ago. "i gave you an extra ten minutes to get ready and you still look like you just rolled out of bed?"

"it's six in the morning, hyung. give me a break" mingyu whined, trying to calm down his untamed hair until jisoo passed him a hat he had in the back seat.

"here. iced coffee" jisoo spoke, handing mingyu the chilling drink right before he pulled back into the road. mingyu's eyes lit up at the sight of the beige drink with the ice swimming inside the clear cup.

"wait, did-"

"iced mocha with soy milk and three pumps of hazelnut syrup. yes, i made sure, you picky child" jisoo said though he was joking. mingyu pouted out his bottom lip, simultaneously as he drank the sweet caffeinated beverage.

"look. i woke up today feeling pretty good and you're really just ridiculing me like this..."

"you know i don't mean it" jisoo laughed, reaching over to pinch the taller's cheek who just accepted it. he had gotten used to his hyung treating him like he was five.

twenty minutes of driving to the city and listening to gfriend later, mingyu and jisoo finally arrived where the staff arranged the script reading. mingyu hadn't stopped playing with the hem of his hoodie as nervousness slapped him repeatedly on the face. he had his role secured but it was the mere act of meeting new people that made mingyu's stomach flip.

jisoo noticed this and put on a sweet smile, fixing up mingyu's hoodie and patting his shoulders. "you'll be fine, gyu"

"yeah... i know" mingyu sighed out, finding the confidence to stand up straighter and putting a friendly grin on his face. "okay. i'll get going"

"and i'll be waiting here" jisoo nodded and got back into the car as mingyu shuffled into the building, his palms continuing the get sweatier when he scolded himself to stop worrying so much.

he was directed by the lady at reception to the correct room to go to and once he arrived, mingyu opened the door and peaked in a little to find the director, producers, writers and actors casually sitting on some couches. he stepped inside and quickly bowed, saying hello and announcing his presence. the others seemed to stop whatever they were doing to acknowledge the lead actor. a chorus of greetings soon filled the air.
