Looking at the place before me I might of wanted to think this over for a minute. Amber and Moonlight didn't look like what you would imagine, the place was worn out from the years of being open and motorcycles just clutter all over the surroundings like there are no parking spaces painted on the pavement. I walk to the entrance of the bar and push the door open to see all these men look straight at me. Do you know when you have a unnerving feeling inside you when a bunch of people stare at you for no reason once so ever? Well that would be me having that right about now. I bypass around all the tables full of aggressive men to make my way to the bar right in the back of establishment. When I approach the counter a tall skinny man turns around wiping a glass with what appeared as a dirty rag.
"You must be Carson, Shelly's told me so much about you. I'm Jesse her cousin" he says shaking my outstretched hand.
"Nice to meet you, so umm you said something to Shelly about a entertainment position here?"
"Yes I did and well I would just have to get an audition from you so that way I can let my boss know if you're in or not."
"Okay where would I be auditioning at?"
"Take a chair up at the stage right over there and shows us what you got."
I walked up the stairs leading to the platform of the stage area and took a seat on the chair in the center of the stage. With all the biker men in the room and staring at me with serous faces it was kind of hard to start on what I wanted to sing. I thought it would of been just a me and Jesse thing with an audition but to be frank I didn't think he was going to give me an audition by what the hell. I started humming out a beat to a song that I thought at first and then began to sing out the first verse of the song. Starting to get comfortable just a little bit, I began to sing a little louder as I continue with the song and the biers began to show some interest in their faces. Jesse was at the bar the whole time observing and listening to my every pitch. Once I got to the last verse of the song I had and applause from all the men including Jesse but there was one table in the place that kept their silence and also never showed interest in me. But the were watching me intently the entire time which kind of scared me a little, I would have to ask Jesse about them later.
"Yo, Carson come in the back and talk to me boss in the office." Jesse said heading toward a door leading to the back room.
I walked around the tables of men trying to get through and I had all compliments from every biker in here but when I walked past the table of men with no emotion once so ever all of them looked dead at me before me walking fast away to the door. I walked into the back room and heard Jesse in what I assumed was the office and walked in to seeing him on the phone and his back turned.
"You didn't tell me she was this good at it. I know I understand, okay will do love you bye."
"Was that Shelly?"
"Oh yeah I was just telling her about how it went. So Carson now that is done I just need you to fill out some paper work and I'll get you starting lets say tomorrow "
"Wait I thought you had to talk to your boss about me first?" I said, confused.
"I am the boss I own this bar."
"Oh well okay then so what do I have to fill?"
He hands me a packet with the big bold words 'employment' on the front cover and tells me to flip to the third pages which goes over all the liability wavers and legal stuff that goes into working here. then flips to the sixth page which gives me a form for emergency contact list but I told him could we skip that then we move to the very last page which is just a bunch of signatures on my part.
"Alrighty then you're hired is it okay that you come in tomorrow at the same time today or will that interfere with your classes?"
"No I can come in tomorrow around the same time do I have to wear anything special?"
"Something with elegance because you'll be up on that stage most of the time."
"Alright then I'll see you tomorrow."
I said my goodbyes and walk out to the main floor and walk out the front door to the outside. I think I would like it here and it would be a benefit on me to gains something on a resume. I get into my car and I drive back to the campus. when I walk into my room I see that Shelly isn't here so that means that I can study some and then fall right to sleep with no distractions.
