My feet slapped against the old tiles as I tightly clutched onto the handle of my suitcase, and followed my Mom to the headmistress' office, ignoring the burning stares of all the judging students shooting daggers at me as I kept my head down low and continued walking.
Although I can't really blame them for staring. You wouldn't expect a girl with pale skin, thick black rimmed glasses, hazel eyes and long wavy strawberry blonde hair, to end up in a place like this. But my appearance didn't phase me. I know I deserved to be here because of the incident. As they always say, "Don't judge a book by its cover."
Some people underestimate my strength and capability for my small frame. So naturally to everyone they think I'm weak and can push me around. But trust me, if I wanted to rip your head off your body, I would.
I was dragged out of my thoughts as I heard the creaky opening of a door which I assumed to be Mrs. Green's office, the headmistress. I cautiously entered and studied the small room. The walls were painted in a dark almost navy blue colour as degrees, diplomas and awards hung proudly on them. There was a larg desk to the front of the room along with two chairs behind it which my Mom and I quickly seated ourselves in. Not long after, a short lady around the age of 50 with medium length black hair cut into a bob entered taking a seat in the chair on the opposite side of the desk.
"Ms. Summers, it's a pleasure to meet you. Sorry for the wait." Mrs. Green chirped out a little too enthusiastic for my liking.
"Please, call me Linda, and the pleasure's all mine." My mom replied with a grin on her face like they've known each other for years.
Seriously, how can you be so cheery in a place like this? If you're not here you're probably in St. Melvard. Which could pass for Juvie.
"You must be Ally, as you already know I'm Mrs.Green, Welcome to WoodBrook Academy." She said as she extended her hand which I politely shook in response.
She gave me my class schedule and dorm room key as she went over the top three rules.
Rule no. 1, No leaving the school compound unless accompanied by a teacher.
Rule no. 2, No wandering around past curfew which was 10pm.
And Rule no. 3, No fights. After everything was sorted out, it was time for my Mom and I to say our goodbye's.
Before I could even open my mouth to speak, strong arms wrapped around me and I returned my Mom's hug with just as much force.
"I love you, Sweety." My mom choked out with teary eyes. "Please don't get into any trouble while I'm gone." She said with a sad smile.
With tears in my own eyes I hugged her once more, "I love you too, Mom. And about that trouble thing, No promises." I replied jokingly. Hopefully.
And with that, she left.
This place is going to be the death of me.
