The next morning, the halls of Talewood High were crowded with students. The news about Katy's murder had gained a lot of popularity.
Katy's shrine was placed right next to Ali's locker. It was filled with flowers, cards and milk chocolates.
"Why the hell are you all placing chocolates ! "screamed Alexa ."Don't you know she was sugar and lactose tolerant", she had tears in her eyes.
Everyone backed off, not wanting to argue with a girl who just lost her bestfriend.
"It's okay Alexa, c'mon let's get you out of here " said a redheaded boy placing his hands on her shoulder and making their way out.
Ali immediately recognised the red head. He was the guy with Shaney at the party held two days ago.
"Isn't he cute" said Loren staring at him .
"Yeah but don't think of hooking up with him. Afterall he just lost his girlfriend" Emily replied in a serious tone .
"What !! He is Katy's boyfriend"
"Yes , his name is Lucas. They have been dating for about 4 yrs" she paused for a moment and said "till now "
A worried expression washed on Ali's face.
"But how is it possible, he was with Shaney at that party" Ali said turning to her friends.
"You must have misinterpreted Ali. Think about this, why would he go to a party with Shaney right after his girlfriend's murder" said Emily
"Maybe I misinterpreted " she replied faintly .
As much as she wanted to believe this , she was pretty sure that she saw what she saw .
The following day passed very quick with school and town buzzing with gossips.
It was quarter past nine , the girls had gathered at Emily's house for dinner. Suddenly the door bell rang and Emily's mom opened it only to see the cops asking for them.
"Hello girls, I'm Robert Franky. I have been appointed the case of Katy's murder" said the young man.
"But isn't the case solved, Shaney is the murderer . So it's your turn to find her her and lock her up for good " Loren said.
"I'm afraid to say but it isn't like this . We still don't know if Shaney is the killer"
" But it's pretty clear from the video that she was stabbing Katy to death " added on Emily.
"That's right but we didn't find Ms Shaney's fingerprints on Katy's body. Moreover we found out that Katy was dead hours before she was stabbed "
"So Shaney didn't murder Katy" asked Ali shakingly.
"We are not sure but there is a possibility she could have gotten framed"
The girls were shocked at what they heard .
"Now for the record,I would like you three to answer some of my questions"
One by one , they were all interviewed . Once the constable left, a major discussion started between them.
"The cop was literally asking me if Shaney was alcoholic or drug addict. How am I supposed to know this ! She kept so many stuff about her secretive" said Loren
"She hasn't even told us about her family" added on Emily.
"The cop even asked me about Lucas, Alexa etc " said Ali shaking her head "I had to lie about seeing Shane with Lucas though "
"It's okay, we don't know know the truth. It could be your mind playing games" said Emily sympathizingly.
"Shaney could be framed maybe" said Ali with a pale expression .
" I think we should try to contact her" said Loren nodding her head .
"Okay we will figure it out tommow " agreed on Emily.
While all the drama was happening in Hollings , things with Shaney weren't going very well . She still hadn't found her father and the hotel she was staying at was dangerously expensive .
