Chapter 6

Leaving the Doctor's Office

Morgan's P.O.V.

"So you heard what the doctor said you have to take it easy, you have 2 fractured ribs" Mason said opening the passenger door and helping me in then getting in himself and exiting the parking lot to the doctors office. "Are you hungry" Mason asked glancing at me as he drives "Yes starving"I say thinking a big juicy steak sounded really good which is strange because i'm not a big meat eater, "what would you like to eat sweetheart" he says still taking quick glances at me as he drives. I immediately reply "steak" Mason takes another glance at me with a surprised look which quickly turned to his usual charming smile. I feel the heat rising on my cheeks, blushing at my reaction to his question, I quickly look out the window trying to hide my face from him. I'm such an idiot why am I acting like this, something very strange is going on but I can't figure out what it is. "I know just the place" Mason said while concentrating on driving but he was still smiling. 

When we arrive at the restaurant Mason helps me out of the truck of course then we walk inside and I can already smell the delicious scent of the grilling meat were quickly seated at a table for 2 Mason pulls my chair out for me as I sit, he was being the perfect gentleman. But this was all so strange to me, I wasn't used to someone treating me like this, I've never had someone take care of me. I even had to make my own soup and tea when I had strep throat when I was 8, luckily my dad hired a nanny when I was little just so he wouldn't have to deal with me. The waiter comes taking our orders, of course I ordered a 14oz steak with garlic mashed potatoes and a side salad, Mason ordered the 32oz steak with steak fries and seasoned mixed vegetables.

"So Mason what do you do for a living" I ask curiously since he lived in a huge mansion, "I manage the family business" he replies, before I can say anything the waiter comes back with our drinks. "What do you do for a living" Mason asks as he sips his ice tea "I work in retail sales" I can't help but stare into his eyes I see what my future could be like with him filled with love and compassion but can I trust him everyone in my life has always let me down. " How long have you known my mom" he asks still staring into my eyes, " 2 weeks, I had meetings with her throughout the week after I got into some trouble at school". We continue talking and getting to know each other as we eat becoming closer, when we finished Mason drove us to a small lake placing a blanket from his back seat onto the grass, we talked for hours watching the sunset then staring at the stars. Mason looks down at his watch "I have to get you home it's late"he said as he stands up then carefully helping me up so he doesn't hurt my ribs and folding the blanket.placing it back in the truck. He helps me in then drives us home, as we enjoy the night air driving in a comfortable silence.

We quickly arrive home walking slowly inside, I don't want this night to end, for the first time in my life someone is showing me love and compassion I know he genuinely cares about me. When we reach my bedroom door I turn to face him wrapping my arms around his neck in a hug. "Thank you for today I had a great time" I say with a genuine smile "Your more than welcome I had a wonderful time tonight" he replies as we both look up into each others eyes, Mason slowly closes the space between us pressing his soft lips against mine in a simple but passionate kiss. When his lips touch mine I feel sparks explode all over my body, my knees become weak and I feel lightheaded but I still didn't want this kiss to end. We slowly pull away from each other hesitantly letting go, I walk inside my room closing and leaning against the door, what am I doing I think i'm falling in love with him.

Mason's P.O.V.

We reach her bedroom door as she turns and hugs me I can't help but stare into her beautiful eyes, I slowly close the space between us as she stares back at me I gently kiss her with all the love I have for her. My heart beat speeds up as she kisses me back my mind becomes a blur and its as if everything around us stops it feels like my world is right I feel complete with her in my arms.
