Heather is a simple girl that works as a waitress, her life has little excitement in it. One night she decided to go out with her friends to hang out, but on her way back home it suddenly started to rain on her and her friends.
"Rain? The weather forecast didn't call for rain" Her friend said.
"We should hurry and get back-" Heather was cut off by a loud thundering sound and then bright light hit Heather, she could feel the electricity spark throughout her body and a strange tingling feeling. Then the light vanished and all there was, was darkness.
Heather woke up, looking up at a beautiful blue sky.
She sat up quickly looking to see... a dog!? There's a golden retriever sitting right in front of her, staring directly at her.
The retriever sticks his tongue out and pants happily "Hello friend"
Did that dog just speak?
"I found you sleeping in a field, so I brought you here." the dog speaks again still with a very happy dog look on his face.
"You can really speak!?"
"Why yes, of course I can"
"But dogs aren't supposed to speak!"
The retriever tilts it's head at my words looking confused "What do you mean? All dogs can speak"
"No- This must be a weird dream." I assured myself that it was just a dream. I mean dogs can't actually speak so.
"A dream? This is most certainly not. You are in the kingdom of Dog"
"Kingdom of Dog?"
"Yes!" The retriever's tail wags happily. "I must ask you, what is your name milady?"
"It's Heather."
"Well it's nice to meet you queen Heather. I'm Reuben"
"Nice to meet you too. Wait did you say queen?"
The retriever nodded and continued smiling at me in his dog way.
"But I'm not a queen?"
"Yes you are! All creatures that walk on two legs are royalty, so of course you are too."
"But really, I'm not! I'm just an ordinary girl from Calgary."
"Calgary? I've never heard of that kingdom. You must have traveled far to get here milady."
"No, Calgary is a city. Not a Kingdom. This is a really weird dream..."
The retriever laughed at me. "You are very silly milady." He sat up "Well, I should take you to see the king now." He turned, ready to lead me to see his king.
I just sighed and followed him. This was indeed a very strange dream, but I might as well go along with it.
