Way Back When: A Backstory Tale

It's finally happening. I'm finally going to get my minions and my plan will be a success. I have been waiting for this moment for years.
I quickly come up with a disguise and make myself look as innocent as possible. I give myself black hair and brown eyes, I also change my voice. I make myself look like a seventeen year old boy, perfect.
I walk up to the front door of my new minions' house and knock on the door.
"Hide until your cue Banes," I tell my partner. He growls, but complies.
After a few seconds the door swings open and there stands my minions' parents.
I give a fake smile to them.
"Hello sir, ma'am," I greet them.
"I am one of Mephisto's friends. We met a few weeks ago at the market place. I was wondering if he was here? He told me that this is where he lives...?" I ask as kindly as I can muster.
The parents give each other a look, then smile at me.
"Well, he's not here right now. And he never mentioned anything about you, umm," the mother says.
"Jeremy," I finish her.
"And that's because I told Mephisto not to mention me. I'm quite shy," I say to them.
"Alright, well he just went out, but he'll be back later. Why don't you come in and chat with us for a while?" the father asks.
"Sure, if that's all right with you," I say.
Then they lead me into their house. As they do, I smirk to myself.
"This is going to be easier than I thought," I think.
"So much easier."

Praxina
I can't believe how much I missed walking in the forest with Mephisto.
Seeing all of the beautiful trees, plants, and animals brought back so many memories.
Mephisto and I continue to walk down the path we created a few years ago. As we walk I see more and more beauty.
"Hey Prax! Isn't that our old tree?" Mephisto suddenlybasks in excitment.
I look over to where he's looking and I smile.
"It is!" I reply.
This was the tree that Mephisto and I had chosen as our own. We used to climb up there for breaks and talk about things. I can't believe we found it!
"I bet I can beat you to the top!" Mephisto says challengingly.
"I bet you can't!" I retort, taking off towards the tree.
"Hey!" Mephisto shouts, then runs too.
When I get to the bottom of the tree I quickly glance up. I'm trying to figure out how to get up, but I can't find a way.
"He's going to beat me!" I think competitively.
Then I smirk.
"Or is he?"
I fly up above and find a good branch to sit on, then I sit carefully on it. When I look down I see Mephisto standing at the bottom. He looks around, then he looks up.
"How's it going down there?" I call to him.
Mephisto smirks and flies up too, flying up to the branch I chose. I move a little so that he can sit, then he does.
Mephisto looks at me. "That was awesome!" He says between breaths.
"Yeah!" I agree, exasperated.
We were both trying to catch our breaths and we're both probably aching due to yesterday, but it was worth it.
Being here with Mephisto is so awesome! I can't believe we were in a fight just this morning.
I'm glad we came here, it's the best fun I've had besides flying!
I just hope that nothing will ruin it. Although, I think everything will be good, I don't think anything can go wrong today.
It's been amazing!

"Everything's going perfectly," I think to myself as I sit in the kitchen with Mephisto's and Praxinas' parents. So far nothing has gone wrong, I just need to wait for the right moment.
"So, uh Jeremy. Where did you say you met Mephisto?" the mother asks me.
I give a fake smile. "At the Ephidian market."
"Oh yes, that's right," she replies.
"Where are you from?" the father asks.
"I'm from Runic, like you folks and Mephisto. I was born and raised here."
The father nods.
Then there's and awkward silence in the house until the mother speaks again.
"Have you talked to Mephisto lately?"
"Oh yes. He told me to meet him here. I thought he'd be here."
"He'll be back soon." the father says.
"He and his sister went out."
"He has a sister?" I ask in fake surprise.
"Why yes, a twin one in fact. He didn't tell you?"
"No, I guess not."
Then theirs more silence. Suddenly I have a strong urge to get the plan moving along. I need this finished now.
"Well, I guess I'll go. I'll get in touch with him," I say as I stand up.
"Are you sure? You can stay if you want," the mother says as I make my way to the hallway, my back turned towards them. Then I stop and smile.
"Oh sure. I'll stay," I say without turning around. Then I give Banes the signal, a single clap of my hands.
With that Banes appears behind me and the parents gasp. I turn around quickly and freeze all the exits with my black crystal magic. The parents gasp and stare at me with wide eyes.
Then I transform back into my regular, devious self.
Both of the parents look so fearful. So helpless. So useless. How perfect for me!
"I wouldn't want to miss the fun!" I exclaim, then signal Banes to attack them. They leap into action and we fight.
Throughout the fight, I'm impressed by how well they can fight. They put up quite a fight for a while.
They were able to dodge or shield themselves from our attacks using their magic for a while. I can see why Mephisto and Praxina are such great fighters too.
That is, until we catch them off guard.
I was able to seperate them so it was harder for them to defend themselves. Soon enough there is blood shed, and a lot of it.
Then it was game over for them. Banes snaps the father's neck and while the mother screams, I rush in and grab her. Then I snap her neck, then let her limp body fall to the ground.
After that, both of them lie dead on the floor. Banes and I stare at them until I begin to laugh maniacally.
I cackle loudly and freely, letting it be heard. I did it! I finally did the damn thing!
"We did it Banes!" I cry in excitment. Banes walks around the bodies to make sure that they were dead. But of course they are, they didn't stand a chance.
"Now all that's left is for our friends to see the surprise!" I say.
"And all of Ephidia will be mine!"
