I've had this chapter done for awhile but I wasn't exactly happy with it. I wanted to change it but decided that I have no clue what I want to change it to. Here is the next chapter! Enjoy<3

Asher's pov.

It's hard to let something go that's important to you. How can someone be here one moment and not the next? What happens to them?

Do they just disappear like they were never here and the only reminder of them is their body which will eventually just turn to a pile of bones? There has to be something else out there after right? All the thoughts and feeling that person had wasn't for them to just disappear into oblivion. It was a concept I could never truly understand or believe.

Blood covered the whole room that leaked from the bodies on the floor. Someone took my chains off and it made me fall on my hands and knees.

I didn't think of anyone else as I ran to her. A pack member gently released her from her chains and she now lays on the ground.

I grabbed her face between my hands gently. She was cold to the touch and no movement was being made anywhere in her body.

I shook my head as tears fell and I let out a silent scream and then a heart wrenching sob. I placed my forehead on hers and closed my eyes silently pleading that somehow she wakes up. My hand went over the nasty bite on her neck that had stopped bleeding. I sat in a pool of her blood that was still warm that wrapped around her body and myself on the ground.

The room was silent even though it was filled with fifteen pack members. Some were crying but they were all silent out of respect.

All of a sudden my body wasn't numb any longer. It started in my chest and tore through my whole body. Searing pain coursed  through my veins until it all focused on my neck where her mark laid.

I screamed as it felt as if I was being branded. Then the worst pain took over when I felt nothing. I pulled back from Addison's body and put my hand on my neck. The tears came down impossibly faster as I felt nothing there. The mark she made disappeared crushing any hope I had of her coming back to me.

A mates mark is removed when one of them dies so you could have a chance with someone else. I didn't want anyone else ever. She was everything I wanted and no one could ever be her.

"Alpha" my train of thought was disrupted. Victor looked at me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Let's bring her back to our territory."

I looked away from him and back to my lifeless mate. I nodded and stood up with my arms under her back and her knees. I started to cry more when her head fell back and her arm dangled.

We all walked out of the room and upstairs. I went first with my mate in my arms. The rest of my pack that didn't come down waited outside. I opened the door to walk outside and people gasped and some started to cry.

I walked onto the porch and stood there for a second as every pack member got down on their knee and bowed their head for their dead Luna.

It took longer to get back to the pack because I had to walk with Addison in human form. When we got there women and children ran from the house happy to find their family members and mates safe and alive.

Cindy ran to me with a smile but then stopped wide eyed with her eyes on Addison's limp form. Her hand went to her mouth and she ran over crying.

I kept walking towards the house completely ignoring her. I walked to our room and set Addison down on the bed not caring if the blood stained the sheets.

Addison's grandmother came in rushing to get over to Addison. I brushed her hair from her face and pressed my lips to hers once more.

I turned and left the room without a word. I walked away from the pack house and into the woods shifting into my wolf.
