6 years later

Brown strands of hair bounced and whipped around the girl as she ran past the trees and forest in a blur. Low growls came from the two wolves hot on her trail but she pushed her arms and legs to go faster.

She laughed after she slid on the dirt to readjust herself to another direction, successfully making one wolf crash sideways into a tree and the other wolf, not being able to stop, slammed his body onto the first wolf.

She looked over her shoulder to catch the eyes of her guards. She ran ahead to go hide while they hunted her down. She started to run downhill but lost her footing with the momentum of her body.

She fell forward with her hands out to try and catch herself but something hit her before she got to the ground.

A big humph sound was made as she quickly looked up at a women around her mother's age.

Standing up, she dusted the dirt off herself and walked towards the women who also got up from the dirty ground.

"You really did come out of nowhere, didn't you?" The women said in a strange voice. The little girl couldn't understand if the woman was angry at her or not but kept quiet for a second.

"I fell by accident"

The lady completely ignored her as she caught a glimpse down at her white knee length skirt that's layered with a big clump of mud. She closed her eyes and took a big breath before sighing in annoyance.

"Great, isn't my day just getting better." She mumbled to herself and then looked at the younger girl. It looked as if she was trying to recognize who the little girl was and why she would be running around here.

The little girl then clenched her first as the scent of the older women's blood filled the air.

Somewhere in their tumble, the woman must have cut herself some how.

The younger one held back knowing that she's not allowed to have blood from anyone other than animals. It's a risk her families not willing to take at the possibility of their girl getting exposed.

The older one watched as the girl closed her eyes, seeming to go through an invisible struggle. In reality, the little girl was trying to hold back her fangs from piercing through the skin of her lip.

"Who are you?" The woman asked but when she didn't get a response, she asked a different question.

"Why are you on royal pack land?"

The little girl couldn't hear the questions clearly over the pulsing of the woman's heart. She can hear the blood being traveled through her veins and started to feel her eyes bleed to silver beneath her lids.

The woman took a few steps forward but when she got too close, the little girls eyes opened in fear.

The woman's eyes widened as she questioned what she saw through her own eyes.

Within a second, two wolves pushed out from the bush and scrambled in between the two girls.

The younger let out a sigh of relief as one of her guards took her away from the confused older woman.

When they were a decent distance her guard turned towards her in question.

"Did she see anything?"

She shook her head in a no. Technically the woman had seen her eyes, not her fangs and she didn't want to risk getting in trouble.

The little girl also noticed that the woman definitely didn't recognize her as the princess. A little bubble of worry was in the back of her head but she brushed it away.

She tried to forget about the events from the last ten minutes but then a question came to her mind. Why had that woman worn such nice clothes to walk in the woods?
