Chapter One

The Boss' (Alec Killian) PoV

Pacing back and forth in my room in the Zin Empires ship I scratch my jaw in response to stress, growling when someone knocks on my door I swing it open with ease, my red eyes locking on to a small familiar red head "Gat is beating the shit out of Matt.." she sighs heavily, furrowing my brows I follow her down the hall to the Zin common room, where the saints and the Zin are watching the fight breaking out, grabbing gats collar I pull him off of Matt who's bleeding all over the floor "Get off me before I kill you myself Boss." He growls, shoving him up against the wall I glare at him "What the hell are you doing" I hiss, watching him look at Matt he pushes me off "He was saying shit. I wasn't gonna stand and take it." He shouts pointing to the bleeding I.T nerd who's being helped up by Shaundi and Pierce "What? What did he say?" I ask blocking Gat from looking at Matt "He called the death of the earth a good riddance!" He shouts, looking over my shoulder at Matt who's shaking I look back at Gat "take a walk Gat, cool off. I'll sort Matt out." I say boldly, watching the aggressive saint storm out I turn to Matt, in a low voice as everyone leaves I glare at him "don't ever say anything about the earth again, else I won't stop him from killing you." I say boldly, watching him nod I walk off.

Walking into the throne room I sit on the throne that's way to big for me, Zinyaks head hung on the wall as a reminder of my Victory, Running my hands through my hair I sigh heavily "I hear a sigh of help" looking up as King walks in, his hands in his pockets "this whole ruling thing is killing me King." I say standing, watching him nod as he walks towards me I glance to the screens that are all around the empires ship, saints and zin socialising as if they weren't our enemies once "maybe you should get someone to help you, you can't rule an empire alone, you have to have a right hand man, or woman." He adds the last bit after hesitation, shrugging I lean back "I don't want to bother anyone, after everything, they've been through enough." I explain, watching him nod I exhale heavily "I can handle it, I think." I mumble the last part, watching him shake his head I laugh.

Unaware that Kinzie had been listening into mine and Kings conversation I watch as the ex-vice- president leaves the throne room, sighing heavily for what seems like the eighteenth time in the last hour, sitting up when Kinzie walks in holding her laptop between her arm and side "I couldn't help but listen in on what you and King were talking about." She says out loud as she walks towards me, wincing I fold my arms over my chest "You really need to learn not to invade peoples private chats." I retaliate gently, watching her go to speak Shaundi and Pierce appear "Alec, shits going down in the simulation." Pierce hums, turning to Kinzie who's holding her laptop tightly in her hands "can we talk about this later?" I ask, watching her nod reluctantly I smile before walking away with Shaundi and Pierce.

Climbing into the simulation pod I watch as Pierce closes the bars, glancing up at Kinzie who's watching, her eyes sparkling with an emotion I can't quite put my finger on, guilt? Sadness? Grief..? Disappointment...? Shaking my head of the thoughts as Pierce finishes closing the barriers, I smile at him briefly before closing my eyes and feeling myself being transferred into the simulation.

Inhaling when I come to in the simulation I look down at my hands "Matt, Have you any idea where the signal is coming from?" I ask, running towards the street I look around, feeling a bullet Pierce my shoulder I pull my assault rifle out, jumping up a building in escape of the predator "yes, it's coming from the docks, I've set a marker for you" He says from the other side, nodding I run towards the marker avoiding any unwanted intruders "there seems to be two people fighting off a group of Zin." He hums, jumping over a building my sight falls on one smaller figure and one bigger figure, shouting I stomp on the group causing the zin to fling into the wall "Boss!" Looking down at Josh who's waving at me I scoff "Great.." I mumble to myself before walking over to Oleg who's got his arms folded over his chest "Ah hello Boss, What is this place?" He asks immediately, waving my hand is dismissal I gesture for
Him to follow me "I'll explain when we get out of here, for now just follow me" I say boldly before running off with them both.

After escaping the simulation I run towards the pod-bay where Oleg and Josh must've emerged "How did we not see them in the pod bay." I growl whilst running beside Gat and King "There's thousands of people in here Alec, it wasn't your fault." King says reassuringly, nodding I stop at Josh who's lied in a load of goop "Josh, wake up kid." I say kicking his arm gently, watching him stir awake king throws a blanket on him "no one wants to see that." Gat groans, laughing I run towards another pod as it breaks and Oleg drops down, watching him push himself up he raises his fists "no! No Oleg it's me!" I shout throwing a blanket on him "Oh, sorry boss." He says sheepishly, shaking my head I wave my hand "it's fine, king and gat will take you to get sorted.." I say looking over his shoulder at Kinzie who's sat on a barrier of a platform amongst the pod bay "why can't you?" Gat asks walking towards me, shaking my head I walk towards the barrier "I, uh I have a meeting." I mumble, jumping down I run towards the other platform.
Climbing on to it I walk up behind her, leaning on the barrier reluctantly she looks over to me briefly "I see your back, did you fix the simulation?" She asks monotonously, nodding I remember something she had said before we defeated Zinyak 'Oleg is dead, Viola is dead, Earth is.. dead..' shaking the thought out of my head I smile warmly, climbing up on the barrier I turn to the red head "I've got a surprise for you" I say out of nowhere, watching her turn to me she arches an eyebrow "come on, I think your gonna like it" I laugh jumping down, I offer out my hand for her.

Walking towards the common room where I know they'll be, I cover kinzie's eyes "no peeking" I say loudly, hearing her groan I guide her into the room where everyone is sat "Miss Kensington, I present to you, you friends." I say happily as I uncover her eyes, which widen as she runs and jumps on both of the new recruits "Oleg! Josh! Your alive!" She laughs hugging them both tightly, I smile softly, glancing over to Shaundi who's also smiling I go to walk out to go work but am stopped by Shaundi "This was good of you Alec." She was softly, laughing I tilt my head "so you can use my real name, thanks Shaundi, just wanted to see her smile" I breath before walking out.
