Chapter Two

The Boss' (Alec Killian's) PoV

After leaving the common room I had returned to my bedroom to sleep, my eyes heavy with sleep deprivation, as I was about to fall on my bed to sleep a loud knock had prevented me from doing so, slumping over to my door I open it with an aggressive 'I Need Sleep' attitude, immediately regretting so when a familiar red-head is stood looking determined "Kinzie, I was about to go to sleep" I yawn, watching her shrug she pushes past me "I get that your the Leader of the Universe now, but need I remind you that I had just saved your sorry ass from the depths of hell." She says confidently, arching an eyebrow I tilt my head "I have no idea what your talking about..." I mumble, watching her groan in frustration she pushes her hair out of her face "I will be your guide! You and Ben were talking about how hard it is for you to rule the empire and the saints, that it causes you stress. I know we've been through a lot but so have you, you have a heavy burden to carry, so I'll help." She says loudly, staring at her I feel my heart drop into my stomach, swallowing a lump in my throat I smile "Kinzie Kensington, you never fail to amaze me.." I breath, watching her tilt her own head I nod "fine, you start tomorrow." I laugh, watching her eyes sparkle she jumps and sprints out my room happily.

Shaking my head I laugh before falling on my bed and passing out.

Walking lazily into the common room where everyone currently is, I yawn, rubbing my eyes in attempt of proper vision "Oh, glad to see your finally awake Boss." Pierce says in a sarcastic tone As he rushes to my side to guide me away from all the objects I'm viable to fall over "cut the crap Pierce, I just woke up." I growl, hearing him laugh he drops me "glad to see you woke up on the right side of the bed, Alec" Shaundi announces as she slouches further into the chair next to King "You wouldn't be in the best of moods when fucking CID woke you up with a high pitched alarm." I hiss grabbing myself a cup of coffee "He's been doing that lately, I received the same wake up call a few days ago.." asha hums as she walks over to Matt "Does any one know where Kinzie is?" I ask looking around for the familiar redhead who's usually at my side first thing "I think she, Oleg and Josh went down to the Pod bay to chill" Keith says from the pool table, nodding I exit slowly.

Wandering on to the platform above where she is sat I watch as she laughs and chats with her two closest friends, standing up properly when Gat appears behind me "Yo Boss, You've been keen on watching Kinzie lately? Anything you wanna talk about?" He asks, shrugging I stroke my beard slightly "Ever since Zinyak had kidnapped her and then you and her went down to hell to save me from an arranged marriage with your Fiancée, I just want to make sure she's happy and okay." I say honestly, watching him nod he looks down at her with me "Kinzie is strong, she lead everything when we were down in hell, she lead the attacks, the plans, she's a smart girl boss, you got nothing to worry about" he says reassuringly, nodding I shrug "maybe your right, maybe I'm just being too overprotective" I hum, watching him laugh he pats my back "now come on, let's go find some cool place in this zin ship to drink!" He cheers poking my chest, laughing I follow him out of the pod-bay.

Lounging next to Gat on the floor I wave my hand in the air "let me tell you something Gat, Running an empire isn't at all what you expect it to be!" I say loudly, watching him nod he leans against me "But you got Kinzie now right? She's like your little helper" he hums the last part, nodding he smiles brightly "so your all good Boss" he laughs wrapping his arm around me, laughing I hit my head against the wall when Kinzie, Oleg, josh and Shaundi...? Walk in "Boss?! Your hammered!" Shaundi says in concern as she drops to my side before noticing Gat who's passed out beside me "I swear you two best not get back into old habits!" She shouts, laughing I stand uneasily "I'm fine, I'll get Johnny out of here, you enjoy your night" I hum waving her away from us both I walk out uneasily whilst carrying a passed out Gat.

"Yo Boss, what's kicking?" Looking up at a blurry Pierce after I had dropped Gat on his bed so he can sleep peacefully "oh hey Pierce.. just been drinking with Johnny" I slur, leaning against the wall as I walk "I can tell, I mean what's wrong? You seem troubled?" He asks, arching an eyebrow I tilt my head "I don't know what your talking about Pierce..." I mumble, watching him laugh as we enter the balcony that oversees the flight deck where Kinzie, Oleg, Shaundi and now the rest of the saints minus me, Pierce and Gat are "You aren't usually the type to get hammered especially when you have an Empire to run." He points out, wincing I lean on the side, looking down at my feet "The stress of running that empire is killing me.." I lie through my teeth, watching him hum he leans down beside me "are you sure about that?" He asks, staring at him I scoff.

Kinzies PoV

Laughing at a remark Matt had made to Josh which caused him to throw a small tantrum I look up just as Alec and Pierce waltz onto the balcony, I watch as stress and a look of depression washes over his face as he speaks to Pierce who laughs at almost every comment the boss responds to so monotonously "Kinzie, you okay?" Looking up at King who's leant forward next to me "Yeah! Yeah I'm fine thanks" I respond way to enthusiastically, watching him nod he smiles, glancing up at Alec out the corner of my eye I watch as Pierce leaves him to be alone.
