Fans were a little detail of the big Horan spectacle I hadn't experienced yet. Until today.

Row upon row of screaming girls and boys were standing outside the Radio 1 building, holding banners, notebooks, and pens for autographs and their phones in hand to take pictures of him. Some were even crying. I couldn't really understand how someone could be so obsessed with a well-known person they didn't know personally.

In my ear was an invisible earpiece, which was connected to a line to everyone outside. I waited until they gave me a sign.

" Fulton, you may proceed," A man in my earpiece told me. I turned to Niall. " Go ahead," I said.

The driver got out to open the door for us. I got out first, followed by Niall and his guitar case.

The screaming was unbearable once Niall got out. This high pitched sound had me worried my eardrums would explode. Niall on the other hand, acted as if he wore earplugs and went ahead to sign shirts and notepads and took several pictures.

Trying not to gain any attention I lingered around Niall's bodyguards Mark, Ian, and the other bodyguards at the scene while keeping an eye on him.

The gates on the sides of the entrance were nearly pushed over by the fans.

" He has to go inside," someone in my ear said. " We lost sight from up here. There are too many people."

I scanned the sky-high buildings and found one of the concealed sharpshooters. I knew he could see me, and nodded.

" Code three," I said softly to Mark and tried to cover it up with a soft smile. Mark understood and talked in his earpiece while he tapped Niall on the shoulder. He shot him a meaningful glance, which Niall seemed to understand immediately. He said goodbye to his fans and then took my hand in his empty hand.

I tried really hard to keep my red cheeks under control, but I still felt how they got significantly hotter.

Along with Niall and his bodyguards, we walked inside where we were met by a friendly woman who'd take us to the right spot.

" Subject is inside, pull back," the male voice said. Several 'copy that's followed by other voices I didn't recognize.

Niall had handed his guitar case to Ian and put his arms around my shoulders, and acted like he whispered cheesy words into my ear.

" Are you sure we should do this?" Niall whispered in my ear. His hot breath tickled my neck, which gave me goosebumps.

" Why not?" I asked quietly and acted as if Niall said something vulgar. The woman walking in front of us, acted as if she didn't see what we were doing.

Niall kept quiet for a second before he answered. " I don't want to die yet, Mercer."

There was terror resonating through his voice. I hadn't seen him scared or afraid these past weeks. Surely he had been concerned about his safety, but not scared. His eyes reflected what I had heard.

" I have to call someone. Can I borrow your phone, babe? I left mine at home," I asked Niall. He seemed a little surprised, especially because I hadn't comforted him. He took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to me.

" Thanks, love. I need a bit of privacy. I'll find the studio myself." I dropped Niall's arm off my shoulders and shot into the toilets for the impaired. I locked the door behind me.

I searched for Mark's number in Niall's contact list and called him. I put the seat of the toilet down and sat down on it.

" Hello?" Mark said, surprised when he answered.
