"Umma I really need to go now" I say to my dearest mother who is hugging me like she will never let me go "umma you
Know they close the gates after 7 and am gonna be late" I mumbled freeing myself from her grip"remember I love you so much and I don't want anything to happen to you. You know your the only one I have and the the only one that kept me steady through all these years" she said as tears start to fill her eyes" oh Allah umma please don't cry you know I hate it when you cry and please take care of yourself for me and please, please,please and please don't overwork yourself.and don't listen to what Anty iya and baba have to say okay?" She nodded her head in response "bye take care" I say as I reach for the door.
The fresh wave of air hits my face as the driver starts to drive away. I wish I didn't have to leave my mum like this .shivers run through my spine as the gates my new school comes into view. I just hope I get along with the people here fast. Thank god my best friend Aisha amin also transferred with me if not I don't know how am going to survive. This is my third year in college I had to transfer because my mom didn't want me to live off on my fathers money. They actually got separated 2 years ago and I have a feeling it was all Anty iya's.because of that her friend Anty Hannah,she's always in the house and even one time when I was passing I saw Anty Hannah giving Anty iya something in a nylon.the voice of the security brought me out of my trance " take this fill out your name,your admin number and your dorm room number" he said " and also your identification card " I bring it out and hand it over to him. He then left and came back"you may enter ma'am.and have a nice stay at metropolitan area university.thank you" I nodded my head in response as he passes me my time table, my room key and my identification card.I hope I will cope very soon.
After I have arranged everything that needs to be arranged I plop down on my bed and start to drift off suddenly my phone just started ringing.who could be calling me at this hour?

Only her"hey Bestie" she shouts through the the other side "oya remove my ear drums now" I say sarcastically "sorry am just so excited.my new roommate is amazing.and don't worry am not replacing you.how's yours?"she says" I don't have one yet the guidance counselor said she will be coming in a few days."I reply "ohh" "so why did you call me by this hour .its almost midnight for crying out loud" I say my voice getting louder"sorry ma oya go to sleep goodnight" she says with a chuckle "night" I say as I turn it off.
Even if she's annoying sometimes I still love her because she was the only on who stood by me during my worst times.with those thoughts in my head I finally fall asleep.,
