My feet are burning and my throat is dry. I pant and gasp for air, my eyes scanning the darkness for something to cling on to. Diana is breathing nervously in my arms, her head resting against my chest. I wrap my other arm around her and start running, hoping I'll get away from the cops and find a shelter.

Since ten minutes ago, I'd lost track of Neymar and right now, I have no clue where he is and what he's doing. What worries me the most is the fact that he might be dead. Is he pushed up against the window of a police van? Is he arrested? Or did he make it? All I can think about is the future of my daughter and I, so I run.

Go. Go and save your daughter's destiny, if you have no care whatsoever about yourself. Martha. The probably last words I heard of her. The sound of the sirens is rising behind me, making me think they've brought the cars into the small forest, within the trees.

Just then, Diana starts crying and I shush her, continuing my escape marathon. I try to make out what's in front if me, so I don't trip. But just to my stupid luck, I think I trip over a rock and fall down. The moment I realise I'm falling, I put a hand around Diana's head, so her skull doesn't get damaged. And I fall. But suddenly, I feel a fierce arm grab mine and pull me along the ground. I scream and hold tight to Diana but a soothing and familiar 'hush' is heard. I realise it as Neymar's voice and get up, while he pulls me.

"Maia! Quickly!" Neymar hisses. I nod and hand him the baby and together, we start running.

After what seems about miles of running, we stop at a little building, which we turned our way out of the forest. The words Jeanette's Diner are flashing in neon colours. The road is wet and slippery and the night is dark. Diana is kicking and punching which makes he both of us calm down, watching her.

"What now?" I ask, panting. He looks at me.

"You didn't ask," he replies. I frown.

"What?"

"Where's Cris and Irina?"

"Neymar, we both know I'd be glad if they were de-"

"Shut up, Maia!" And I freeze. He's never told me to shut up. And he never was this cold. "Cris is your brother and deserves a life!"

I shut up and we walk quietly to an alley, standing to rest for a while.
