"he's kind, athletic, smart and fun to be with. no wonder he's popular. he always has a smile on his face, but i can tell by his eyes, he's lonely inside."

•°☆ taehyung | individual chapter introduction

Today is the first day of school, and I can't believe I'm late for class. If it wasn't for my sister who's slower than a turtle, I would've made it just in time.

I ran across the hallway as fast as I could, and luckily, there seemed to be a transfer student waiting outside of our classroom. All the attention was on her, so it was just a piece of cake sneaking in.

"Ms. Yoon, is she mute?"

The whole class seemed amused at how nervous the transfer student looked like, but I wasn't.

I know exactly how it feels to be an outsider, because I've transferred schools more than I could remember. The feeling of a new environment, surrounded by new people you've never encountered before..That anxiety you get, thinking whether you'd fit in the class, or be an outcast. This led me into becoming who I am today, to survive this highschool hierarchy.

Someone who can be accepted in any type of environmentㅡbut I would never truly belong anywhere.

"Hey, Taehyung! What are you zoning out for?" I snapped back to reality and turned to face Jimin, pestering people as always. He sat down on my desk and waved his hand in front of my face. "Were you even listening?"

"Gah." I smacked his hand away before it reached my nose. "What did you say again?" He chuckled.

"People have been passing by our classroom just to greet you, and you're here spacing out."

"Ah. Was I?"

"You're hopeless." Jimin scowled. "Anyway, the tennis club wants to recruit you. Henry hyung said they're in need of another person." He casually asked, scanning the room; probably looking for Seulgi.

"Really? I haven't tried playing tennis yet. Tell him I'll stop by and try." I replied, but Jimin looked at me annoyed and clucked his tongue. "What?" I asked.

"You dummy. Can't you learn how to say no?" He nagged, and I just nodded. He stood up looking annoyed and shoved his hands in his pockets, "Bro, you've got 18 clubs in total, is that even legal? How do you keep up with meetings?"

I just shrugged and sheepishly smiled at him. "I don't." He shook his head and placed a hand on my shoulder, "That's why you need to find yourself a girlfriend. So you wouldn't be all over the place like this."

I just stared at Jimin in disbelief. Is he using himself as an example? "You know it doesn't work outㅡ"

"A real one, I mean. Someone you really like, and someone you'd be serious about." He smirked, and then walked away as soon as his girlfriend entered the room. That punk. Does he think I play around then?
