Happy does not even begin to cover how I felt. It was almost one and a half year since we last had a chat.
From that day onwards, we started talking everyday, just like we used to. He apologized for what he had said and didn't want me to feel offended. He wanted me to share my contact number with him, but I had restricted him over certain things as I wanted to be sure about getting into serious emotional attachment with him.
One evening, while we were conversing, he came to know that my mother wasn't home and it was quite visible that my granny wasn't around. He informed me that he was about to leave and wanted to bid me goodbye in person. I was stunned for a bit because I had no clue of what he was up to. I saw him packing his stuff and close all the windows as well as the main door. He pulled down the shutter. By the way, let me tell you this that I could actually see everything in his office very clearly. Anyway coming back to the topic. He then walked towards the stairs and in another moment faced me. We had an eye contact and the next thing I knew was he was waving at me. I convalesced from his engaging gaze and returned his wave being fully careful to go unnoticed.
Days went by and we spoke about serious topics with being a bit quirky. I was so proud of him secretly that he was successful in winning my trust. So finally, I decided to get him out of his guilt and we shared our numbers.
The next moment he called me and said that he felt that I was making fun of him by giving him a wrong number, so he had thought that he could always call and check. Mobile phones are now a part of our lives. And specially if you are about to enter into an love affair, then you won't leave your phones for sure! We began talking daily during our idle hours.
That was the year I was appearing for my ten plus two board examination. Aarav had been very helpful during the last 20 days before my finals. As mentioned earlier, I was among those who could study well under pressure and this time the stress was double, since for the first time we had to appear for an full course paper. I was completely dependent on my self study as I didn't go for any tuitions after my 10th standard.
Those days, I was a bit weak at numericals, which formed the major portion of Physics. I had mentioned about it to Aarav and without thinking twice he offered me his assistance whenever I had any difficulty. Taking out time from his busy schedule, he used to help me with my sums. Till then I had started confiding in him and somewhere deep down I knew that was genuine.
My studies used to seize a lot of time and would continue till late night. Aarav gave up on his sleep and would accompany me the whole time. This quality of his made me fall for him.
As if there was some sort of an empathy link between us, one fine night, Aarav proposed to me, yet again. It was obvious that both of us did feel the same way, yet again I didn't give him a straight answer and requested him to wait till my exams were over. He understood that I didn't want any distraction and never reasoned with me. He just waited.
Meanwhile, I had started with my papers. The uphill struggle had begun once again and continued for 15 days. Ultimately we came to the end of our papers. The last paper and the last 3 hours of the school exam. We were all very nostalgic that day but happy as well. Freedom awaited us all.
I was all excited to talk to Aarav once I reached home. I could see that he had clients and that he won't respond to my message. So, I decided that something should be done to get him smile when he sees his phone. I texted him my answer. I accepted his proposal and told him that I loved him too.
