Goodbye

The blind hunter tapped his cane on the ground to use it as a guide in his path, knocking off any debris in his way. He relied on his other senses, mostly his hearing. His breath hitched as he felt the cold wind brush his olive-yet scarred face, his blue misty eyes remaining still. One eyeball on his right sadly pulled off since he had a growing tumor, and that tumor was quite horrifying.

Oh, how could he know? He never saw the damn thing either way.

He had a long chain whip on his right with a red rectangular flag, the flag was for more control and sound since he had anything but eyesight, which made him quit his group in the first place. Because his disability would make him a hindrance in the missions.

Though he still wore his Yharnam Hunter uniform, he wondered why he still wore that actually. Possibly since he still missed them and that he still was loyal. Or that he barely had any other clothes than that.

Meh, I mean, he could assist others in battle if he wished to. Only in the distance with his whip though(Anyone pinning him down would count as an instant KO for him since he couldn't do anything).

He remembered their screams, even barely their faces. It had been too long. The chains from his whip rattled with every step he took, making quite a lot of sounds, relying on echolocation to guide his way. He doesn't remember how long he had been blind, weeks? Months?

He was a bit used to this darkness, at first he felt extremely vulnerable. But now he embraced the darkness and appreciating his other senses more. Touch, hearing, smell, taste. Though he wouldn't taste anything nasty.

"Cecil you nasty arse!" His friend yelled, chasing after the hunter. Both wearing wide grins. The hunter's stunt made his partner stumble down and land his face on a pie with perfect placement.

They both ran around the village like children, both passing by many citizens of the city. Eventually his friend and soon to be ex-partner, Romero, finally caught up to the taller male. Both stumbling down face first on the ground.

Romero laughed as he lifted himself up, helping Cecil back on his feet as well. Both laughing together as they relished their time together once more before moving to separate partners on their next quest.

He was quite the violent sport back then before, he realized. Now he's reduced to a silent man who rather almost never gets involved in battles(unless high pay).

Cecil was too clogged up in his thoughts that he lowered his guard completely, smiling at the memories of colors and the faces of his friends he had seen long ago. He isn't sure if his old friend was still alive and kicking. He prayed silently that Romero would take a visit here, possibly still remember him and just go back and have fun. Except that he was blind now.

A faint growl rumbled through his ears, snapping out of his thoughts he instinctively reached for his chain whip as fast as he could. But the bloodthirsty creature lunged before he could reach his weapon, pinning the blind hunter roughly down on the hard pavement. He chocked out a gasp as the air left his lungs in an instant, his mind scrambling to grab his trusty weapon.

The beast growled once more, adding pressure to his arms making the hunter wince in pain and his arms freezing. Then the beast dove in his shoulder, biting hard. The blind hunter screamed in agony as he felt the teeth scrape his bones. He smelled his own blood and its warmth coating down his ragged coat, the creature letting out a low rumble in which he thought was a purr.

Oh, Gods no—

The beast pulled back, using one of their limbs to claw on their torso, enjoying the sounds of his prey's wretched screams. The hunter couldn't breathe, he was hyperventilating as he thrashed around, desperate to live. His eyes widened as the thing pressed down, even more, making it more difficult to breathe.

No—

They let out a roar, deafening Cecil's ears. He swore that his eardrums were bleeding by how high the beast roared, and how there was ringing on his head. He let out short gasps to take in more air since the beast was practically crushing him to the point that his ribcages broke. He could tell that the beast was huge from how heavy it was. The Hunters eyes twitched, his mind ready to pass out from the lack of oxygen it was receiving.

Then, finally, the beast decided to finish him off. And bit the blind man's jugular with a sick crunch before ripping it off.
