adrift amongst burning stars
and frosted planets,
cursed to wander space for eternity.
his head was filled with static;
radio silence from a satellite
that couldn't pick up anyone's frequency,
because he was alone up there,
out of reach,
buried beneath space dust
and molten starlight,
and entombed by asteroids
like the one beating in his chest.
an asteroid heart,
beating for nobody.
