he was just a lonely astronaut
stuck too far up in the clouds
trying to find his way
through the celestial spheres,
trying to find his way
back home.
he had been lost for so long
that the light in his eyes
and the breath in his lungs
were beginning to fade,
until he caught a falling star;
a blaze of silver and gold
and midnight eyes.
and realised it was not
a fallen star
but another astronaut
that had landed on
his lonely planet.
