Chapter 3
Recap: There stood our principal Mrs.PantyBottoms.
No. Just kidding. Her name wasn't Mrs. PantyBottoms although it would have been way funnier if it was. Her name was Sandra Wells. Mrs. Wells was absolutely stunning. I think she was in her 40's but she looked like she was twenty five. With high cheekbones and a gorgeous figure the principal had guys at our school whistling at her. She kept her dirty blonde hair in a tight bun and her brown eyes were hard as stone. Gorgeous or not, she was like a drill sergeant.
"Welcome Class of 2015!" she said and everyone clapped and whooped.
"Please settle down students." everyone quieted, "I apologize for the delay. The doors should have been opened.." she looked down at her watch, "seven minutes and forty two seconds ago. Anyway I would like to get a few things out of the way."
"This is your senior year. Many of you have been accepted early into universities." Elena and I glanced at each other and grinned. We had both been accepted early into Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. We had decided whatever we choose we were going together. While Elena had gotten in because of hard work, I had gotten into because of money. Just another reason I was always guilty.
"But they can always take away your spot. So just because you've been accepted doesn't mean you can party this year away." I swear she looked directly at me when she said that. Well lucky her, I'm not partying this year, "For those of you who haven't gotten accepted early, remember this year you're doing your applications. So don't party, drink, or make me suspend you. I expect great things from all of you this year. So without further ado, go inside and begin your last year at St. Francis!"
She moved to the side and everyone rushed in.
Elena and I waited until everyone had gone in but we weren't the only ones with that idea. The Preps had waited to.
Chloe and her friends came up to us. A sickly sweet smile graced her lips, "Lola! It's always a pleasure to see you."
I noted how she didn't say hi to Elena. Chloe hated Elena's fashion sense and made it a point to treat Elena like she didn’t exist.
"I wish I could say the same." I sneered.
"Now, now Lola, I know your mommy and daddy taught you manners." she said in a condescending tone, "Oh wait, they were never around to." and she laughed along with her minions although I didn’t see what was so funny.
Yes, I was raised by maids and butlers because my parents had never been around but I wasn’t secretly really sad about it and I didn’t try and use some careless, badass girl façade to cover it up. I didn’t really mind. They came every month for a few days, called regularly, and no before you ask they’ve never forgotten my birthday.
