Powerless

 

 

My house still looked the same; the yard was filling up with tall grass, my father’s car parked in the driveway. It was hard to see what I left behind, not as hard as it was to leaveVancouverthough.

Jacob squeezed my hand in reassurance I looked too him to see him smiling. It made my chest feel warm and fluttery just like the first time. We got out of the van and went to Jake, he intertwined are hands and pulled me closer.

“Let’s go, don’t look so pained woman” he joked and I flicked him in the shoulder.

“Thanks now I feel like Jasper when he’s around Bella” I joked but noticed him tensing up.

“You alright” I asked in worry.

“Perfectly fine babe” he said in a nervous tone.

I sometimes wonder what is going on with him. I feel like he’s keeping things from me like it could be small things but also it could be something big.

We walked to the door and rand the bell that sounded really old. I heard footsteps coming and the door opened to reveal Embry looking rather sweaty.

“Hey guys!” he shouted in a happy tone and gave a bro hug to Jake and gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek.

“What up?” I asked him.

“Nothing just cleaning up the house” he shrugged and let us in.

I walked to the living room to see Heather cleaning the coffee table.

“So I see that your boy answers my house door but not you” I scoffed in a sarcastic tone.

Heather turned around and smiled like crazy; she ran to me and gave me a tackling hug.

“Kora!!! I missed you I hope your doing well” she said quickly with a worried expression.

“You know me, so what’s going on?” I asked her.

“Well you know the guy that has your dads will or whatever s coming by later tomorrow and then me and Embry are moving out of town and what not” she said walking to the kitchen.

Wait hold up she’s moving out and the will organizer dude is coming?!

“Well then maybe Jake and I will live here then and where out of town are you moving?” I asked her following her to the kitchen where she grabbed me a can of grape pop.

“That would be pretty cool but aren’t you graduated yet?” she asked me.

“Yeah like next month kinda thing cause you know my dad dying gave me an out to delay my grad” I said dripping in sarcasm.

“Well will all be there for you and were moving toWashington” she said waving me off.

“I’m going to my old room and Jake can get my bags” I said.

I heard Jake gasp from the living room and Embry chuckling.

“What makes you think I would want to do that” he asked.

“Because you love me” I said cheekily.

Next thing I knew the door slammed shut and I seen Jake unloading the van.

It’s so fun having an amazing wolfed out boyfriend.
