Gina ran and quickly picked up her axe and swung it around, hitting the mummy in the neck. His head tumbled to the ground. She glanced at Tim, his sword a blur amongst the mass of mummies surrounding him. Carter was keeping more from coming in with his shotgun.
This part of the cave smelled of dead people. It was wet and there were too many passageways. They had gotten a lead from an old man that there was a sort of secret in these parts, that a tribe lived there that vanished all of a sudden. No one knows exactly why, but knew that they were a mysterious bunch. Weird and peculiar things happened around them. When curious people ventured into these caves, looking for the lost tribe and their secrets, they were never heard from again.
The crew planned for it to be an in and out thing, but the mummies were cursed or something. They wouldn't die, but you could decapitate them to where they're not too much of a threat. They had been on many trips like this one, so they were seasoned adventurers. They lived for the thrill and knowledge that comes with it.
"Looks like this is the last of them" shouted Tim, wiping his brow."Right" said Gina, kicking a moving arm away from her. "I got dibs on that box in the corner. It looks intact still."
"You got it Gina. I don't trust anything that's in here so be careful. How the heck are we gonna get out anyways? Again, why did we even go across that bridge? You know how many times my foot fell through that rotten wood!" Exclaimed Carter.
"Yo Carter chill. Gina, what's wrong?" Said Tim.
"Gina!" said Carter looking at her "Say something!"
"Oh crap." said Tim "This isn't good."
Gina was flapping her arms, frantic. She tried to scream but no sound came out. She then closed her mouth and doubled over. Next she was on the floor, writhing, tears running down her face. The box was in the corner, unopened, but it was glowing.
Carter and Tim ran over to her. Tim opened his backpack and frantically got some herbs and grounded them together. He put it in her mouth. She shivered, then kept right on writhing.
Carter took his shotgun and shot at the box, eyes stony. It ricocheted off it. A mummy head with it's glowing purple eye sockets jumped up and bit his arm."Shiz." Said Carter angrily. He tore it off him, ripping flesh, and threw it against a wall. "What in the world is up with Gina, Tim?" Exclaimed Carter, balling his fists up.
"The heck if I know. You know that box had something to do with it." Said Tim
Gina went still. Her eyes were wide and wet. Five minutes have passed. She glanced at Carter and told him, I am so done.
He was taken aback by what he heard inside his head. Did she really just talk to him inside his mind?
"Carter," she glanced at Tim. "Tim, it appears I have... telekinesis..."
"No dip." Said Carter.
