Walking me into gym in super annoying to me. The only reason I come into the gymnasium is to say "hey I'm alive!" To the teachers and then go to the library. It's not like I can participate or I'll die...no joke, we've been over this.
I sulk in and wave at the gym teacher who marks on his attendance paper that I'm here. Then I turn around and go to walk out. I flung the door open and whoopdy do guess who's there?!
"Hey Amy. Where are you going?" He asked stepping to the side of the hallway.
"Oh I um don't participate in gym..." I didn't dare make eye contact I was still down about earlier.
"Why not? Well act lazy now that I think about it you always leave don't you?" He asked and seemed genuinely interested.
Sighing I mumbled. "I have asthma..." his face looked confused. "I'll have an asthma attack if I participate so I just go to the library." I admitted.
"Oh cool I'll go with wait here." He dropped his backpack and walked up to the gym teachers and spoke pointing to his head. The teacher shrugged and said something back making him walk back up to me. "Come on." He grabbed his backpack and walked down the hall.
"Noah, you can't just do that...wait what did you do exactly?" I asked.
"I just said I had a headache and was going to the nurse. Now speed up." He smiled at me over his shoulder.
I grunted as I forced myself to walk faster. " Ok A- that's lying and you shouldn't do that B-you should really go and tell them the truth and stay in gym and C- slow down I'm a small person with not much speed!" I exclaimed frustrated and he laughed finally slowing down.
He looked down at me and shook his head. "Amy it's fine, do you know how often people skip class? Calm down love." There it is again, that word. It made me feel all bubbly in my chest.
"Well fine." I didn't bother continue our banter. We came up to the library and walked in. I headed to my usual seat in the very corner were no one really goes. Sitting down I took out my homework from math and placed it in front of me. Noah did the same with some more math homework and peaked at mine obviously copying me. "Really?" I asked covering up my page.
"Look Amy your really smart and I'm not so give me a break here?" He played the pity card and I couldn't believe it when I giggled.
A supposed look room over his face at my laugh. " Noah your smart and you know it, if you need help I will help you but I'm not going to let you blatantly cheat." I scolded him.
"Great, cause I gotta catch up on homework from a few days and it looks like your ahead of me sooo." He gave me that striking smile again and I agreed.
As I helped him through each problem and I realized he was smarter than he made himself out to be. And yet again here I am talking with Noah as if it were normal. I caught some people looking and talking but it was like he knew and would direct my attention right back to him. Before I New it the bell had rung and this private moment was over. But luckily for me we both had Mr.pelows astronomy class next.
I stood up and grabbed my backpack skidding my papers back in. Not expecting him to wait for me I looked up and saw he was standing there patiently. "You coming?" He asked. And I jumped to it taking my place next to him. He spoke on and on as we made our way to class and it was nice. Being a part of his life even if it's for a moment. I dreamed of this for a while and it was happening. But then we got to class and I knew he would sit with his friends or with The gorgeous girls in the back of the class like he normally does.
I separated from his side expecting him to pretend like we hand them just spoke and laughed for a solid half hour, and the walk up here. I sat down at my normal seat next to the window. And to my surprise the desk squeaked as he sat down next to me. "Now this is the only class I really like besides gym." He leaned over and whispered.
I have to say I was taken back, and by the looks on the girls faces he usually sits with so we're they. "What's wrong?" He asked and I didn't know what to say. But it's like he know what I was wanting to say. "Your nice Amy, I'm not just gonna abandon you like a fucking jackass." He said and leaned back in his seat smiling at me. And I smiled back happily.
Throughout the whole class I couldn't help myself but leak at him in all his glory. He seemed to genuinely like astronomy. He's such an interesting person. I have more than a thousand questions for him but I could never ask him any. It's like when he looks at me with those deep blue eyes I can't get a word out I'm so stuck in them. That's probably also because I can't believe this is even happening still.
I must have been looking too long because he glanced over with a knowing look. Quickly I averted my eyes. A small piece of paper was scooted onto my desk and I watched him sit back and nod to it. Opening it I rolled my eyes at what it said. "Take a picture, it'll last longer." With a little drawing of a camera below it. I looked back up at him and he winked sending my heart into a flutter yet again.
As soon as class was over he opened his mouth to speak some more. "Your keeping the note?" He laughed.
"Well your an aspiring artist and I want to be the first to have one of your little masterpieces." I said sarcastically and tucked the paper into my backpack.
He laughed a loud fake laugh making some people look . "Come on." He said as if i was falling behind He the hadn't even left yet. Taking my place next to him again we walked to my next class and last one, history. He stopped me before I walked in. "What's your number Amy?" I almost fell over at his forward ness.
"Oh um 276-7683..." I told him and he typed it into his phone.
"I'll text yah later." He said and saluted my a goodbye. I stood there till he rounded a corner and even though I hated this going through my mind, I wish he had called me love again.
