It was a sunny summer day, Chloe and Brooke were sitting outside the school.

Not knowing what to do with their selves the two just sat their on their phones facing the empty parking lot.

The two scrolled the internet, the the sounds of the birds filled the air.

Everything was uneventful and quiet  until Brooke started to squirm.

Hiding her arms into the sleeves of her yellow jacket she typed.

Brooke: Chlo..we need to talk.

Brooke's face turned a bright red as she hit send.
It took a mere moments before Chloe typed back.

Chloe: K.

Brooke typed a response quickly.

Brooke: Face to Face Chloe.

Chloe let out a scoff putting down her phone. "What Brooke?" Chloe sighed in annoyance.

"Chlo...I have to tell you someth-" Brooke started.

"Brooke, go on I'm listening." Chloe shot back. Sighing realizing she came across aggressive. "What is it Brooke?" Chloe stared her best friend in the eyes.

"I like you..." Brooke let out a sigh, "Whenever I'm around you everything is right, I always want to be by your side Chloe...-"

Chloe stood up. "Brooke, I'm sorry.."

"Chlo-" Brooke stood beside her friend.

"You're my best friend and I love you, but I don't know Brookie.." Chloe shook as she spoke. "You're my best friend, I can't ruin that."

"Chlo, whenever I'm with you The world seems right. Yes, I know I'm your best friend but...For awhile, I've thought like we could have more.." Brooke stumbled through her words.

Chloe wiped tears with her jacket. "Brooke, I can't, I don't know how I feel and I don't know if I can do this." Chloe broke down. Tears running down her face she stormed off.

"Chlo..." Brooke felt tears well up in her eyes. She walked to her car silently sitting in the drivers seat she slumped back. Sighing loudly she started up her mother's car. The drive home seemed to last a year, as everything was so quiet without the laughing of her best friend beside her. When Brooke arrived home, she instantly ran up to her room.

Falling back on her bed, every bit of sorrow let out. As tears ran down her face she threw her phone at her wall.

"Brooke you're such an idiot..." She yelled at herself. Until she heard her phone buzz.

She ignored it for awhile until the buzzing kept happening.
She finally got off her bed and decided to check it. She sighed loudly, it was Chloe.

Chloe: Brooke, can we talk?
Brooke?
Brooke?!
Brookie, please.
Brooke..we need to talk.

Brooke let out a sigh and proceeded to text back.

Brooke: I get it you hate me.

In what seemed to be less then a second a response from Chloe shock back.

Chloe: Brookie...I've been thinking.

Brooke's hands started to shake after she read that, Chloe probably more then hated her. She had lost her best friend because of stupid feelings...even if Chloe was the girl for her Brooke knew at this point she had no chance.

Chloe: I like you too.

Brooke clutched her phone close to her chest when she read the text. She fell back on her bed letting out a sigh of relief.

Chloe: Brookie.. you there?

Brooke: Yeah sorry.

Chloe: if it wouldn't be too awkward...Pink Berry tomorrow?

Brooke: As a date?

Chloe: Yes silly a date.

Brooke squeezed her phone tightly. A smile spread across her face.

Brooke: Definitely. Pick you up at 12?

Chloe: Sounds perfect.
