Chapter 3

As I flew back to the city, I couldn’t help but blame myself. I kept thinking ‘Why didn’t I notice him’ and ‘How can I be a hero if I can’t even save my own best friend? I’m no better than the monster who took her.’ All these thoughts flashed through my head as I rushed home to find Seth. Hopefully he will know what to do, because right now I just want to take off by myself and find her, but I know I will need help, so I restrain myself.

Five minutes later I finally reach the house I share with Seth. I burst through the door to find Seth sitting at the table reading a book.

“You’re back sooner than I thought. Is everything ok?” he asks looking up from his book.

“No! Something terrible happened! Jordan and I were in our usual spot in the forest when a man from Tartarus took her. We have to go find her! Please, help me go find her.” I say, starting to sob. “My best friend was kidnapped right in front of me and I couldn’t do anything to stop it! How do these people expect me to save them, when I can’t even save my best friend?” I ask him still sobbing.

“It’s not your fault my son. There was nothing you could have done as it is part of your prophecy.” He told me sadly. “Now I believe it is time for you to hear the whole thing. Come with me.” He said, standing up.

Hastily, I followed him to a room I didn’t even know we had. It was behind a book shelf and was really small. In the room was a small desk and some candles that were already lit. On the desk was a single piece of paper.

“Alright, this is the prophecy that was made long before you were born. Now it is time for you to know and embrace your destiny. When you are done reading and thinking it over, come find me.” He said, and then walked out.

I looked at the piece of paper and started reading.

When the Savior’s friend is taken away

A group of warriors is made to save

Light, Time, Sky, and Sea

Will now soon have to meet

To save the one tainted by Night

They must find the Day’s might

In the final battle Light stands alone

To win or lose he can never go home

The only way I could describe my thoughts was chaos, absolute chaos. I took deep breaths and calmed down to think. ‘So, I’m the ‘Savior’ and Jordan was taken away. I guess Time, Sky, and Sea could be the warriors and I have to find them since I guess I am ‘Light’. I have no idea who could be tainted by night or what the Day’s might is. I can only assume that I am the Light who stands alone, but what does it by I can never come home even if I win?’ I think to myself. Guess I have to go find Seth now. (A/N.I thought about stopping here, but since I haven’t updated I’ll go a little longer.)

I quickly left the room to go find Seth. I found him reading at the table again.

“So, what do you make of the prophecy?” he asks me.

“I think that in order to save Jordan, I have to find a person from the Time, Sky and Sea kingdoms, but I don’t know who they would be.” I answer.

“You are searching for each kingdoms champion. They have similar powers to you, as they have part of their patron’s power. However, they are not as strong as you are since you are the Savior.” He tells me.

“What about the rest? I’m still confused about some the other parts.” I tell him.

He looks at me sadly and says, “I am very sorry my son, but I have already helped too much. Please forgive me.”

“I understand Father. Thank for the help you have given me so far. I’m going to go pack my weapons and some provisions. I’ll be back in a minute.” I say and head to my room.

Soon I am all packed and saying goodbye to my father.

‘Well, off to the Kingdom of Time I guess’
