Kiara was sick as her finals took place. She had to go after school to finish them. As she walked into the library, she only noticed two more people. One was the librarian who then handed her the test. The other, was a very cocky kid named Ashton Irwin who thought he was the coolest person because he has rich parents.
She walked over to the table Ashton was sitting at, having no choice, as it was the only testing table. She sighed as she sat down. She looked up and found Ashton staring at her. Kiara brushed it off because she didn't want anything to do with him.
Five minutes passed and he was stiill watching her.
"Do you mind?" she whispered. He immediately brought his eyes back to his pencil and paper. He seemed nervous for some odd reason.

Kiara
I felt several taps on my shin. I glanced under the table to find Ashton kicking me softly. I tried to focus more on my test but he made it very difficult. My brain burned at the stress I was being put in trying to not focus on the pain forming in my leg and focus on something I didn't even want to do. I became fed up.
"Oh my god can you stop?" I nearly screamed and immediately got shushed.
Ashton giggled, "I'll stop eventually."
I rolled my eyes as he continued kicking me. Thank god I was close to finishing. I was only 6 questions away from leaving this kid. As I was on the last question, he slipped me a small piece of paper. I unfolded the paper and read the light writing. It was a phone number. I passed it back to him and scoffed in disgust.
"Listen, just because you have really rich parents, doesn't mean you have every girl falling at your feet. I don't want your number Irwin," I had a disgusuted look on my face.
"Well, maybe if you get to know me, you'll like me better. So take the number, and call me," he had a large grin on his face. I thought it wasn't worth fighting so I took the number and put it in my pocket.
He looked up at me again, "Hey, I just finished the test so I'll wait for you outside Couret."
His words made me blush. I was on the last few questions. Part of me was really excited to meet up with him. But I knew it was wrong in so many ways. As I filled in the circle for the last question I already had my backpack slung over my shoulder and I bolted up from my seat and handed it to the librarian. I then walked out of the room to find Ashton leaning against the wall.
"Hey beautiful," he walked up to me and whipered in my ear.
I pushed him away, "You're one of those really cocky guys that I was told to stay away from. But you're lucky I like you Irwin."
He placed his hand on my face, "I am lucky." He then walked away from me. Leaving my mouth hung open and confused.
I made my way off campus and began walking home. All I could think about Ashton. He gave me a moment to think about for a couple days. I just thought of what could happen between us.
Kiara what are you doing? He's trouble and you know it. You met him in a test room. What is your problem? I rushed to the front door of my house and pushed the key into the keyhole. When I unlocked the door I found my mother talking to another woman.
"Oh hi Kiara. Meet Catherine Reed. She's our new neighbor, her son should be out of the restroom soon. I think you two will get along very well," I shook hands with Mrs. Reed and sat down on the couch.
"So how was the testing today?" both women turned to look at me.
"Eh, it was okay. Not really fun but I lived," I closed my eyes and placed my hands behind my head. They continued their conversation and another figure walked into the room. I assumed it was her son so I turned and found a brunette boy, about my age, with hazel eyes. He looked a lot like his mother.
Catherine gasped, "Kiara, this is my son Connor. I hope you two become really good friends."
I held my hand out for Connor to grab. He seemed nervous as he hesitated to grab my hand. Soon he did and I smiled at him while I shook his hand.
"Shy one I see?" I giggled and he nodded.
"Oh Connor, you don't have to be shy, she's just a girl," his mom stepped in.
He spoke, but barely audible, "Yeah, a pretty girl." I smiled.
We ended up talking for about an hour and we learned a lot about each other. He was exactly my age, 18, and loved any video game involving battle. He was a cool kid and i would definitely love to be his friend. We walked up to my room where I had vinyls scattered on my desk, posters plastered on the wall, and various CDs on the floor.
"Sorry my room is a mess, I wasn't expecting people to be in my cave," I shuffled around, trying to fix everything.
"You like All Time Low?" he giggled.
I nodded, "Yeah if you couldn't tell by my shirt." He blushed.
"What's your favorite song?" he looked up from the CD he picked up.
"Probably If These Sheets Were States," I begin to hum the song.
"That one's good but I like Oh, Calamity! if I were being honest."
This kid and I were gonna get along really well. I reached in my pocket and discovered a piece of paper. It was Ashton's phone number. Memories from this afternoon flew back into my mind.
"What's that? A number? Oh, does that mean you have a date or boyfriend?" he sounded disappointed.
I slumped my arm around his shoulder, "No, I don't have a date nor a boyfriend. Why are you so down about it anyway?"
He stuttered, "N-No reason! I just was, uh- curious I guess."
I moved slightly closer to him and I felt his body tense, "I heard you call me pretty earlier it's okay if you like me. But there's another guy who is probably interested in me and this is his number that I have. He's a total jerk so right now, you're winning the 'who do I like better' contest. But I gotta text this number so he knows mine at least."
To: Irwin
Hey Irwin, it's Kiara.
I received a response seconds later.
From: Irwin
Oh, hey Kiara. I wanna go to your house so we can talk. Is that okay?
I looked over at Connor, "Is it okay if Ashton comes over?"
He nodded slowly and I quickly responded to Ashton and gave him my address.
He's on his way to my house. I was really worried for some odd reason. I have no feelings for him, or so I thought. Maybe I do. I just don't know anymore.
A knock on the door was heard from my room. I grabbed Connor's wrist and dragged him down the stairs with me. I greeted Ashton and he scanned the two of us. I was holding Connor's hand and Ashton didn't seem very pleased.
"Ashton, this is Connor, Connor, this is Ashton," they shook hands and he stilll seemed irritated.
"Yeah uh Connor, would you excuse us really quick?" Connor nodded and Ashton dragged me to the end of the hall.
He pushed my against the wall and pulled my hands above my head, "Who the hell is that? Your boyfriend?"
I thought I would play with his mind a little bit, "Maybe he is. Is it a problem Irwin?"
He looked at me angrily and his lips were quickly placed on mine. I was gonna have some fun messing with him tonight.
