Beautiful Nightmare (A Loki & Captain America Fanific)

Good Bye Cap

*a couple years later*

"Mummy!" Said a little girl running into a living room.

"Yes darling?" Amelia said picking her up and sitting her on her lap.

"What was my daddy like?" The little girl asked playing with Amelia's hair.

"Your father was brave, braver then any man I know. A good man with a heart of gold and I know if he was here now he would spoil you rotten." she said tickling her 5 year old girl.

"Will I ever get to meet him?"

"I don't know. Maybe one day." she smiled, "now go play with Loki."

Loki was the little black labradore with beautiful green eyes. He reminded Amelia of Loki so she decided to name him after him. The pup would have his moments a lot like Loki did. He acts tough but inside he's a big softy at heart.

Amelia walked into the kitchen and on the fridge was the baby picture of her little angle. She could feel Steve's arms wrap around her kissing her neck.

"I love you." his voice echoing in her head.

"I love you too." Amelia whispered quietly.

"Mummy there's a woman at the door." the little girl said intrupting her thoughts and snapping her back to reality.

Amelia quickly wiped her tears putting on a smile holding the little girls hand, "go back to playing with Loki and I'll be in soon. Okay?"

The little girl nodded before skipping of out into the back garden. When Amelia answered the door it was Natasha her eyes were red and her cheeks tear stained.

"Natasha? Are you okay?" She asked stepping out and hugging her.

"It's Steve." she said between tears.

"What about Steve?"

"H-he's... He's dead."

The words hit her like a tone of bricks.

Steve.

Dead.

Amelia felt tears welling up but couldn't hold them back, "How did he die?" She asked.

"The super serum he was given ran out and in less then a week he started to grow old and today he died." she cryed.

Natasha pulled away wiping her tears and into her pocket, "he told me to give you this."

It was a letter. Which read:

'Dear Amelia,

I'll be long gone before you read this and I'm sorry if the writing is a little unneat.'

Amelia started to laugh,

'I hope our little girl is alive and well. Thank you for all the things. Tell her I love her, give her a hug and kiss too. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to say a proper good bye so here it is. Good bye Amelia, I love you and I always will. Don't forget that.

She tried to smile but couldn't the tears kept flooding out.

"He loved you." Natasha hugged her again.

"I know." she sighed.

"Come. Say your final good bye."

"I can't. I'm sorry." Amelia shook her head pulling away.

"Please Steve would of wanted that."

"Okay. I'll bring Katie too."

"Katie?"

"His daughter."

When they arrived at S.H.I.E.L.D's hospital ward round his bed stood all the Avengers. Tony, Bruce, Thor, Hawkeye, Furry, Colson and Maria.

"Amelia." Maria smiled trying to hide that she had been crying hugging her, "I'm so sorry."

"You shouldn't be sorry it wasn't your fault." Amelia smiled.

Amelia walked around and sat on the bed next to him placing Katie on her lap.

"Who is this?" Katie asked.

"It's your Daddy Darling."

"Hello Daddy." Katie smiled.

Everyone in the room smiled before leaving Amelia and Katie alone.

"Is he sleeping?" Katie asked.

"Yeah darling. He's sleeping."

Amelia felt more tears fall down her cheek. She turned to see them all looking throught the window and couldn't help but cry.

"Mummy are you okay?"

"Come out with me Katie. Lets leave your mommy. Let's go get some ice cream. Yeah?" Maria smiled holding out her hand in the door way.

"See you later Mummy." Katie said kissing her cheek and taking Maria's hand and leaving.

"I'm so sorry Steve. I should of been with you. I should of never left. I'm so stupid." she said in between breaths. She could breath because of how much she's crying.

She stood over placing her hand on his cheek. "Even when your old your still as handsome as you used to be" she tryed to get herself to stop crying but failed. She kissed his cheek before falling to her feet.

"I hate to see her like this" Bruce said, "shouldn't we go in. She'll make herself ill."

"Your right" Furry said.

"Come on Amelia I think it's time" Bruce said stepping inside.

"No please ten more minutes please" she begged.

"Okay ten more minutes thats all" Tony said standing at the door with his arms crossed.

"I love you too Steve. Always have always will" she leant down placing a kiss on his lips as tears fell onto his colour less cheeks, "Good bye Cap" she said with a little salute.

"I love you more" he said looking over and watching her leave.
