Dream Catcher

Feathers dangle and sway in the wind
The intricate designs and webbing
Keep us safe in our dreams
And Nightmares away
Every child has a million fears
Every teen has a trillion fears
Every adult, a zillion fears
When is it that we lose touch
With our imaginations?
Innocent faith,
When is it that we begin to lie
And distrust?
When is it that we learn to close our hearts?
To be young again, An age old wish
The wind stops and feathers still
Stars shine as the world falls asleep
In our dreams we are safe
For the dreamcatcher is hard at work
She catches all the nightmares
All the fears we hold
Like a mother, she eases our fears
No matter how old we are
In our dreams, we are still only children
When is it that we begin to test the blind faith we once had?
When is it that we no longer dream of impossible dreams?
When is it that our nightmares become our dreams?
When is it that we no longer sleep?
A dreamcatcher is meant to help us sleep
Meant to catch nightmares
Meant to help us be children in our dreams
Meant to give us new dreams and hopes
Just like a mother caring for her child
A dreamcatcher eases our infinite fears
A dreamcatcher protects us
A dreamcatcher is the tool that lets us get in touch with our imaginations
Teaches us to have innocent faith
To have an open heart
To be honest and trust
To have impossible dreams
To be children again
To sleep
To love
A Dream Catcher is a mother to her forever aging children.
