Rat torture was a method of execution where a bucket full of rats would be placed on the victim's exposed torso. Heat would be applied to the base of the bucket, making the rats desperate for a way out of the bucket. The rats would eventually start gnawing through the victim's flesh until they could escape. This often caused the rats to gnaw through organs, intestines, and/or other important parts of the body.
