They strolled slowly along the Danforth.

Peter felt himself getting lost in feeling the contentedness for a moment when the silhouette of two people caused him to double take.

The smaller one approached Peter and Chloe while leading the other by the arm.

"Hi, Peter."

Peter looked at the 5'5 girl standing in front of him. An instant shock from the memory of a girl he used to date back in high school flooded his mind."

"Uh, hi, Danna." He said. There His ex high school girlfriend stood before him holding the arm of her new man.

"It's been a long time. You look different.", she said.

Memories of the short, bright purple hair, and dark punk rock clothes past through Peter's mind as he remembered the girl he used to know back in his younger years.

"Ya, so do you.", he replied, eyeing her white frilled out dress and long blonde hair blowing slightly in the breeze. She looked radiant.

He looked at the man she was with. He was tall, lanky, with thin rimmed glasses, and a thick dark moustache.

"This is Kevin, my husband."

He felt his eyes want to pop out of his skull from the sudden shock of what he was hearing.

"Oh, I didn't know you got married. Wow, time really flies, huh?" He babbled, stretching out his hand to shake Kevin's. Kevin nodded and obliged.

"And who's this?", asked Danna.

"Oh, sorry, this is-"

"Chloe.", Said Chloe, cheerfully cutting him off.

"I guess you still forget to introduce people. Some things never change.", Danna said. She turned to Chloe. "Don't feel bad, he used to do it to me all the time too."

Peter tried to switch the subject.

"So, uh what are you guys doing, bar hopping?", he asked, looking around quickly.

"No, just picking up a few things from the store we forgot earlier. We don't really do that kind of thing anymore."

Peter's heart flushed and sank a bit in his chest at the sound of that, remembering how her name was once carved into the tree back at their old school next to his, and her as the kind of girl who was always out and getting up to no good, now so tame, and so grown up.

"Oh."

"Well, we're going to get going. It was nice seeing you again, Peter, and it was nice meeting you too, Chloe.", Danna said before heading back on her way down the street with Kevin.

He questioned whether she truly meant that or was just trying to be polite as he watched them turn the corner. Either way he was glad he wasn't alone at the time for it.

"Who was that?" Chloe asked.

"Uh, my ex. We dated back in high school. I didn't think she'd still be around this area."

"Oh, you're still not over her?"

"No, I am. It just kind of weird seeing someone after a long time, y'know?"

"Ya. I see."

Chloe looked around.

"I'm hungry." He heard her say.

She pointed toward a bar with tinted windows and a neon sign above. "How about there?"

"Don't know. Honestly, I haven't been to many here, but it doesn't look like they'd serve food there."
