Chap II- First Meeting

Before starting i wanna tell u something pretty imp-
Only after doing alot of research, ive chosen this topic as basis of the story
The upcoming chaps contain medical terms& ways of treatment
The methods i will mention might not be 100% acurate cz despite trying alot, i cud get only limited amount of data on the topic so plz bare with me

Next day-

Avni went straight to xyz hospital for sanidhya's treatment, not before informing someone in her dept

She decided to spend her day there itself

At xyz hospital-
Avni did as she planned- she spent most of her time there with sanidhya
Though the session was for 3hrs only, she decided to stay to gain info about neil- (his medical history, precisely) so as to know his case better but alas she cudnt as she wasnt a staff of their hospital &was appointed for sanidhya only
But she didnt give up cz she knew that being a doc from a diff hospital, she wont get access to such files easily so she waited for the right time

**Time lapse***

It had been a month since avni was treating sanidhya &her treatment did yeild positive results as he was recovering
The dean called for avni& she arrived at his cabin

A-may i come in sir?

Doctor looked up from a file he was going through

D-oh yes ms Mehta
Avni enters

Im highly impressed by your work
I just received a call from the docs at the other hospital
They told me that sanidhya is very well responding to the medication& counselling sessions
They say if he continues to improve, then they might release him in a month or2
Im extremely happy &proud of you-bcz of u our hospital will reach more heights

A-tysm sir
Its my pleasure that i could contribute to the betterment of our hospital &my treatment helped a patient for the better
Sir, after a pause avni continued- sir actually i have a request from u-but i dont know how wud u react

D-go ahead

A-sir theres a patient named neil in the same hospital as Sanidhya

D-oh ya
I heard alot about him from their docs- hes a big nuisance for them

A-sir i want to take up his case, only if u allow
Ive seen a strange pain in his eyes- as if he was tortured at some point in his life which resulted him in the mental hospital-as if hes there against his wish
The dean went silent for a while
Avni thought he was gonna refuse when he spoke-

D-well ms Mehta i dont have any personal issues if u try to treat him but the only thing im worried abt is that its pretty dangerous- i dont know much in detail abt his case but the docs there say its next to impossible to treat him

A-sir whats the harm in giving it a try?
After all, all the doctors at our hospital have taken risks at some point in their career so i feel even i can give it a try

D-well if u insist then i will talk to them today itself& will try to ask for his case file as well so that u are well prepared for treating him

Avni's happiness knew no bounds

The dean talked to the other hospital &by evening, neil's case file was on avni's table
Her working hrs were over& she didnt have any surgeries or night shift so she drove back home
She was extremely happy

Mehta house-

Avni quickly had dinner& ran upto her room to get onto work-she had to start neil's treatment from the next day itself
Nobody in the house was surprised cz it was a part of her routine which everyone was aware of-

Everyone in chorus- ANOTHER EMERGENCY CASE &continued having their dinner

Avni's room-

She was busy going through neil's file when few shocking facts came in front of her

Name-Neil Khanna
Age-25
Disease-victim of solitarry confinement since10 yrs
Parents-mr& mrs Khanna
Date of admission- addmited 5month ago

Avni was shocked-
He was in solitary confinement since age of 15?
But why?
And by whom?
It was ironic that even after going through so much that too at such a tender age, neil survived ut all-but now hes been facing the after-effects of the same

She flipped through remaining pages but didnt get any info apart from medication names, MRI(magnetic resonance imaging)& EEG(electroencephalogram) reports
She did become a little upset but was determined as well so she decided to manage with whatever data she had& try to fetch whatever was missing

Thankfully she knew the dos& donts of dealing with such patients &hence knew his probable reactions along with what to say &what to avoid

Next day, xyz hospital-

Avni took sanidhya's counseling session& then moved to neil's room

As usual, he was screaming, hallucinating abt people& talking to himself
As usual, an untouched plate of food was kept next to his bed along with very dim lighting in the room- things shes been noticing in past1 month but unlike previously, this time avni knew the cause& was prepared with the cure
Now she had the answers to most of her questions

She decided to strike a conversation with him& taking a deep breath, she entered his room

A-hi neil
Im Avni Mehta- your new doc
Your previous doc Nikhil Kashyap has got a transfer& hence now yr case will be under me
Avni said politely, with a smile on her face
Neil's expressions were of fear& anger-at the same time
He didnt speak-just faced the other She tried to extend the conversation but alas, failed
Not giving up, she decided to know what all has happened with neil in past5 months
