Your POV

I sat in the car looking out the window at the stormy sky, “why so glum?” my mom asks me as if she doesn't know already, “I'm leaving the only place I've ever known, am i supposed to act as if nothing's wrong?” I said with a pained expression and sad tone, “*sigh* sweetheart, we're doing this so you can have a better future, and know that we're doing this because we love you.” he ended with a smile, I smiled a little bit but it quickly disappeared, I put in my ear buds and listened to whatever music played through them, “just seven more hours, sweetheart, then we'll be able to move into our new house.”, “great.” I messed with my medallion and looked at the ruby heart with wings.

It was one of the two things that was left by my birth mother, I pulled out the note that was left by her, I kept it in my pocket at all times, I unfolded it and read it for the thousandth time,

To whom it may concern,

My name is not important, my child is, please take care of her, I can't and I'm pained by it, and I have something's to ask of you,

1.Please tell her, when she is old enough, that she is adopted.

2.Anything out of the ordinary will be normal for her, for she is not normal herself.

3.Just love her as if she's your own child
4.I would not recommend Child Abuse for she can be capable of killing many people

5.Move to Jasper Nevada when she's sixteen, the reason will be known soon afterwards

Her name is (y/n).

Please take care of my little sunshine. My dear, I will always love you. You have my fire to warm your heart, and my wings to hold in the heat.

I love you to the moon and back.

I always wished that she wrote more whenever I read it, but it gave me hope, a hope that I would see her again, I rested my head on the car window and fell asleep as rain started to patter onto the windows.

I was shook awake from a dreamless nap by my mother opening my door and almost giving me a heart attack, “wake up, sweetheart, it's time to get settled into our new house, you get to choose your own room.” I perked up at the last comment and grabbed my three boxes and jogged through the front door, the house looked nice, I walked down the hall into the room of my choosing, the second biggest bedroom of the house, “(y/n), come meet the neighbors!” dad yelled while I was putting down the boxes,  “coming!” I jogged back out into the hall and through the kitchen to the front door where I was greeted by the sight of the moving truck.

I walked out the door and saw my mom talking to another woman, she had black hair and blue eyes, “(y/n), this is Mrs. June Darby, and her son, Jack.” I gave a little wave and walked over to the moving truck, pulling off my flannel, tying it around my waist, and pulling up my hair into a ponytail
(or leave it down, if your hair is too short)
I grabbed the box holding my bed frame, slinging it under my arm I made my way over to the house, “cool tattoo, my mom would flip out if she saw me with one.” I yelped and jumped so hard that I dropped the box, I turned and saw a tall boy with black hair and blue eyes, “you're Jack, right?” I ask, “yeah, and you are…” I mentally slapped myself for not introducing myself first, “I'm (y/n), nice to meet you, Jack. Now, you gonna help or just stand there?” I teased, then picked my box back up and walked through the house to my room putting the box down and headed back out to retrieve my mattress.

I was pulling my mattress to the house when Jack walked over to help me, “Sooooooo, why'd you move here, to Jasper I mean.”, “dad got a new job so I, not being the legal age to move out, had to come too.”, “you going to the high school here?” I nodded, “yeah, why?” I asked, “well, I could show you around, the school I mean, y’know, so you won't get lost.”, we put down the mattress in my room, I smiled at the stuttering and blushing boy in front of me,  “I'd like that.”

~’nother time skip~

We got everything in the house just as the sun started setting, “welp, who'd like some pizza?” my dad asked while pulling out his cellphone.

I sit on the front step and Jack sits besides me, “hey, uh, this might be personal, but why don't you look like your parents?” I sighed and started fidgeting with my pendant, “I was found on their doorstep, I was just a baby, a note and this medallion are all I have of my birth mother.”, “wow, um, sorry.” I gave a dry chuckle, “nothing to be sorry for, I have the best parents I could ask for.” I walked in the house as the pizza boy drives up to the curb, “pizzas here.” I said and grabbed the 20 on the counter and walked back to the door, “large cheese and large pepperoni pizza, your charge is $19.25.” I give him the 20, “keep the change.” he nodded, jogged back to his car and drove off.

I stared after him with furrowed brows, "mmmmmm'k." I whipped around and slammed open the door, "who wants the first slice!” June and Jack had stayed, mom insisted, and they along with my parents are sitting at the table that was quickly put together, I put the pizzas on the table, “no volunteers? I guess I get the biggest piece.” I had a sly smile, I grabbed the paper plates and gave two to everyone, “why two plates?” Jack asked, “these things are weaker than wet tissue paper, you have to have two to make a somewhat strong plate.” he ‘huh’d and grabbed went for a slice, “nope, that's mine,” he reached for another one, “that's mine too,”, “then which one can I have?”, I gave a dopy smile, “none!” I grabbed a pizza box and booked it, “h-hey!?” he went and dad grabbed me by the waist and went, “no running with pizza.” and grabbed the box putting it on the table, I crossed my arms and pouted, “you're no fun.” he pouted a smile, “I can be fun, I'm just hungry.” after that everybody got at least two pieces of pizza, I was still hungry.

My dad elbowed me, “best go take a shower, ya got school tomorrow.”, “*groan* oh noooooooooo.” I slid down my chair, “oh don't be so dramatic.” I deadpanned, “I'm a teenager, I'm supposed to be over dramatic.” (writes the teenage author)  my mom huffed, “you little turd.” she's holding back a smile, I stick out my tongue, she returns it, June laughs, “I can tell you all are close.” I smile and stand up stretching showing off my midriff by accident, “welp, this has been fun but imma go wash my hiney, bye Ms. June, later Jack.” I waved as I walked to my bedroom to grab my clothes,

tomorrow's another day.”
